chrisp65
by weird coincidence, we've got visitors coming next weekend and we've promised them a visit here... ....but it won't be as good as an old school Mr Whippy
This Could Be Rotterdam
I do like a Feast! From my childhood, Funny Feet and Funny Faces were always good. Also (maybe setting me up for future alcohol abuse), cider lollies, lager and lime lollies, and cherry brandys. A good old fashioned screw ball was always good too. I'm not sure if it was a limited edition thing, but a couple of months ago I found funny feet in asda. It was magnificent!
villa_shere
Ice cream shop in Henley is really nice, went couple weeks back had a pistacio and salted caramel cone. they have about 20 ice creams to choose from and you can buy tubs to take away. AValon
Mr Whippy was always the softest ice cream, which strangely enough is not a euphemism in any way. Ice creams today are too complicated.
Stevo985 Posted March 18, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted March 18, 2015 Now Mr Whippy IS an Ice Cream I don't really like. That's not proper ice cream.

StefanAVFC Posted March 18, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted March 18, 2015 I have absolutely no idea how people can eat peanut butter and enjoy it. I'm convinced it's some sort of long con that everyone is pulling on me.
AValon
We used to have two ice cream vans come round. Mr Whippy, the 'soft' one and the Walls van, who just used to serve vanilla wafers chopped from solid blocks. Must admit to being something of a softy. AVFCDAN
I'm not really a fan of ice-cream but i was partial to an oyster or screwball from the vans back in the day.
villa_shere
I used to work in a ice cream van back in school days. The turf wars were surreal
ismail-villa
A lovely 99 flake from the ice cream van with sprinkles and sauces is the best. Also, Feast, Magnum and Asda raspberry ripple are my favourites. Special mention to Haagen Daazs Strawberry Cheesecake! Still haven't tried Ben and Jerrys yet. And on that note I'll go look in the freezer for some ice cream!
