Folski
If they're buying these clubs, who'll be the one they treat as the "premier" club? Would we be feeding Inter? Sounds cack. Also if the clubs were to meet in Europe what would happen then?? Pretty sure UEFA have rules regarding this, in that it cannot happen at all??? Well Mike Ashley has a considerable stake in Rangers & owns Newcastle.

This Could Be Rotterdam
I still don't fully get the Adams connection. The guy is a tool of the highest order Apparently it will be a football advisory role (whatever the **** that is) Probably the exact role that may just have saved Lerner from chucking his money away. Not that I see Adams as a would be great advisor!
Isa
You can't own more than one club but you can own one and have a certain percentage of others once they're in a different country. Sub 20% I think Don't Watford's owners have majority control over three clubs though?

sexbelowsound
Watford have got a proper shady deal going on with Udinese with the amount of players they bring in from there, conveniently on a free.
dudevillaisnice
Paul Smith is facing competition from two other parties in his £150million takeover bid for Aston Villa, Telegraph Sport can reveal. Smith, the former Chelsea executive, has made an informal offer to Villa chairman Randy Lerner and remains hopeful of completing a deal within the next two months. Smith's consortium includes the former England and Arsenal defender Tony Adams. But Lerner is considering two other bids from parties interested in buying the former European Cup winners who, like Smith, have made non-binding indicative offers. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/aston-villa/11600800/Aston-Villa-takeover-goes-up-a-gear-as-two-more-buyers-lodge-bids.html
DCJonah
I hope its true and I hope there's serious interest from a few. But we had the same stories last year and ended up being left with Lerner.

dudevillaisnice
A Chinese group are in competition with an American consortium and a British bid headed by ex-Chelsea director Paul Smith that includes former Arsenal and England captain Tony Adams in an ambassadorial role. Lerner has already given notice to two members of Villa's marketing staff to leave on June 1 ahead of a likely buy-out. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/liverpool-man-united-transfer-target-5685342

Isa
Looks like Lerner has a big decision to make with a few options on the table. The more the merrier. Had it been just one bidding party willing to meet his asking price, then the odds are he would've just accepted regardless of their credentials. Multiple bids give him the freedom to choose the most credible.

I think it is fair to assume this might be the reason why Lerner has waited (since he announced selling) one year, it is a decent amount of time to build up interest in the club. This Smith and Adams bid maybe a case of the least credible shouting the loudest, thus why names have been leaked in the press.
ThunderPower_14
Please no consortiums. By definition they don't have enough money. Yep. I'll be really concerned with a consortium, especially if we end up incurring debt so they can buy us. I've wanted a new owner since not long after MON left, but this is all making me incredibly nervous. It doesn't have to be a Man City type teal (although that would be nice), but someone who has some financial clout, and is prepared to use it to push us back up the table at the very least.
