StefanAVFC Posted October 31, 2013 VT Supporter Share Posted October 31, 2013 (edited) Real time births and deaths First death I saw on this out of anywhere in the world 'Stourbridge' And the Real Time England map was wrong for my area, especially on the average asking price for a house and on KS2 results. bickster Posted November 2, 2013 Moderator Share Posted November 2, 2013 Gotta love Penclawdd cockles and lava bread but I never was convinced by their breakfast potential
villaajax
This morning I had all the standard stuff minus the mushrooms (we didn't have any) with sausages and bacon from the butchers which is noticeably different, usually I'm not fussed about bacon but this stuff was good! Also had white pudding which was nice. It's always so hard to find decent black pudding. The butcher in town does a Wantage sausage (named after the town), I could just eat a whole string of those. They are also now doing a late night meat takeaway!

StefanAVFC Posted November 2, 2013 VT Supporter Share Posted November 2, 2013 I dislike half the stuff on a fried breakfast so I'd rather go without.
villa4europe
black pudding and oatcakes are the wrong way round aren't they? either way oatcakes aren't something I see round here
villaguy
Interactive map of England, contains crime rates, income, age, employment %, etc. The crime rate of the area I'm moving to is way above the average, 266! It neighbours a road with 358 and a bit further up the road is an area with

The_Rev
black pudding and oatcakes are the wrong way round aren't they? either way oatcakes aren't something I see round here Oatcakes are associated with Stoke on Trent in my minds eye. Black Pudding is further north, possibly Lancs.
mjmooney Posted November 6, 2013 VT Supporter Share Posted November 6, 2013 Never heard of having oatcakes with an English breakfast. I assumed they were a Scottish highlands thing.
villaguy
In Lincolnshire they just stick to the staples, certainly not kidney's and black puddings are pretty rare there, not many have fried bread either
Xann
Stoke oatcakes are like pancakes/ chapathi , large and soft. Scottish oatcakes are like drinks coasters, but less tasty.

Ah, figures. So the Stoke things are similar to Americans having pancakes with their fry-ups?
Xann
America just likes adding extra sugar/fat/salt in general doesn't it? Stoke doesn't go in for the syrup. It's a toast like mopper, or the basis of a sort of Staffordshire breakfast burrito.
