Cliffy Biro
Because we'd have to have a vacancy to take a punt on someone..
useless
If Lambert were to be relieved of his duties now, then the type of Manager that we would need would be different from the type of Manager we would need if we were to go for one in the summer. PaulC
Short fix, Sherwood to keep us up.
useless
But if he did keep us up, then it probably wouldn't be a short fix because he'd be kept on as a reward for keeping us up.

EastEndVillan
We need two managers: 1 to guide us to safety over the next 12/13 games. Someone out of work, maybe a point to prove, knows the league inside out, disciplinarian - I give you: Sir Alex Ferguson - I wonder if he could be tempted out of retirement for the remained of the season - Million pound a point salary. 2 Once we know what division we in next season, then we an appoint a long term successor - any one of the names that have been banded about. Dr_Pangloss
Short fix, Sherwood to keep us up. Surely if we were looking for a short fix then Sherwood wouldn't be considered since he has no experience of stepping in and saving a team.
dont_do_it_doug.
The first three posts on this page have it nailed in terms of the type of manager we should be looking for long term. Short term, if we are floating names like Gray and Neville out there how about a man with experience of fighting his way out of these scrapes - Curbishley.
