peterms
To be fair, he's made an abject and unreserved apology, as well he might. Perhaps we should ask how it could have got through editorial control in the first place. Oh, sorry, it was Fox "News". I withdraw my question. Popular Post peterms
Oh my god! I hear the Paris march was attended by Netanyahu! A march against racist killings being photo-opped by a racist killer...doesn't get much sicker than that...
Popular Post peterms
On the point about who attended the march, we had press coverage to the effect that world leaders who support freedom of expression were at the head of a million or more people. Are they all really so keen on freedom of expression, when it doesn't accord with their own views? And here's a different angle for the shot: So, bunch of repressive shits stage hypocritical photo-op for cynical self-promotion on the back of a dozen people being murdered.

tonyh29
the whole world is full of hypocrisy , you'd know that just by looking at politicians shaking hands with Gaddafi and so on sometimes you just need a gesture however hollow and empty it may appear to be to the keyboard Warriers who live their life through Game of Thrones They've united and done something ..that's a start and who knows maybe that will make the next discussion between country A and country B that little bit more easier the next time and that's politics

A shot which packs a lot of stage extras behind them so it looks like they are leading the real march when they are not, reeks of insincerity. Why not either have a photocall and be clear that's what it is, or else go on the march and be photographed doing it, rather than present an illusion? An impression of sincerity would also be easier to convey if they had either excluded people who actively oppress free speech, or else had them make some meaningful gesture about curbing thier own excesses in their own countries. And now they are all back home, developing more ideas for the further erosion of civil liberties, "because Charlie". Ugh.

Risso
Did anybody really think that that group of world leaders would actually be stood a few feet away from a march of a million people? It's not like there's been any sort of security incidents in Paris in the last few days or anything.

It's not like there's been any sort of security incidents in Paris in the last few days or anything. Well clearly not, we're not stupid. Who in their right mind would think that people would be stupid enough to believe that? Ah.Yes. Like others have said, we understand why you aren't at the front of a march, it's dangerous - don't pretend to do it instead, just have a photo and tell it like it is!

CarewsEyebrowDesigner
In other news, this is happening tonight. A record 25,000 anti-Islamist protesters marched through the east German city of Dresden on Monday, many holding banners with anti-immigrant slogans, and held a minute's silence for the victims of last week's attacks in France. reuters What would the reaction be if that happened in a UK city?
