MakemineVanilla
This is the single which took The Who from mod band to rock band and it is awesome. The guitar and drums between 2.09 to 2.29 is a moment of true rock ecstasy. It is one of those rare moments when I can't decide whether I am air-playing Townsend or Moon. And, Daltry's second 'Oh Yeah' is one the best in rock history. Edited March 3, 2014 by MakemineVanilla

MakemineVanilla
Here's a perfect record written in the Brill building by Doc Pomus and Mort Shuman. Jewish writers in the great tradition. Shuman wrote Sha-La-La-La-Lee (with Kenny Lynch) for the Small Faces and the only Andy Williams record I ever loved (Can't Get Used To Losing You). Elvis is good of course but what really does it for me is Hank Garland's wonderful guitar, which rings like a bell. A great starting point for Air-guitar 101 and guaranteed to give me the white man's overbite.
