briny_ear
This the bottom of the table after 22 games from last year 13 West Bromwich Albion 22 4 10 8 24 29 -5 22 14 Stoke City 22 5 7 10 22 36 -14 22 15 Swansea City 22 5 6 11 27 33 -6 21 16 Crystal Palace 22 6 2 14 14 31-17 20 17 Fulham 22 6 1 15 22 48 -26 19 18 West Ham United 22 4 6 12 22 33 -11 18 19 Sunderland 22 4 6 12 21 36 -15 18 20 Cardiff 22 4 6 12 17 38 -21 18 It just goes to show how quickly things can change. Quite - we were in 10th on 24 points but we still managed to have a good go at getting relegated - 11 points from the next 13 games nearly sealed it for us. Now we are 15th on 22 points and can't score goals. Bodes well.

bannedfromHandV
As Merson said on Saturday, sometimes it's best for all concerned to just get relegated Go down, regroup and learn how to become a winning team/club again Whilst I'd be gutted and embarrassed for a few weeks I think I'd soon accept and adapt to it, it would be nice to see us winning games again even if it is in the championship

I think the wheels would come off completely if we went down.
briny_ear
The Championship is a bastard to get out of once relegated - many haven't managed it, or only after years of trying.
Mantis
Yeah, I think we'd either do a Newcastle and storm back up or really struggle.
ThunderPower_14
I think our current style might actually work better in the Championship where defenders are going to make more mistakes. At least Lambert I guess has shown he knows what it takes to get a side up. Try telling Leeds or Sheffield Wednesday fans that it's sometimes better to just get relegated. We're a big club, but so are Leeds, and I just don't see that we have the right people in place at the moment to get us straight back up.
BleedClaretAndBlue
Relegation is not an option for me. I like being able to say we are one of Premier League ever-presents even if we have been the biggest joke over the last few years. We will rise again, hopefully. Its the first thing i tell my spammer mates, especially this season now theyre getting a bit brave. Then the trophy cabinet comes out in the argument and then the discussion ends
Rob182
Call me a pessimist but the fact we are so poor at scoring goals this season will undoubtedly cost us our premiership status. Derby County has the record of scoring the fewest goals in a season which was the grand total of 20, they finished bottom and were relegated. The club who finished 19th was our neighbours who scored 46. Anybody think we will get to 20?I was talking to Derby fan at work the other day, asking her about the record-breaking stats of that season, and I think she said they conceded 180 goals, or something like that. Finger crossed, our defence will grab us a few points, despite the poor scoring form.

With no takeover and Paul Lambert we are going down. I think we'll get bullied a lot in the Championship.
