Guest
Off to another club with an owner who is the main problem at the club.. but I guess they will see him as somebody who can do things on a budget. Good luck to him.
AshVilla
Was never going to get a prem job straight away was he needs to build his reputation in the championship
rodders0223
Shouod bide his time and wait for the right offer. Blackburn are an absolute car crash and his CV will take a right battering IMO.Jumped back in a little too soon for me, JG did the same at Derby (though much sooner) and his career next recovered. Designer1 Posted November 12, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted November 12, 2015 I hope he does OK at his next job.I don't hold any malice towards him from his time here, he just wasn't up to the job.
Popular Post choffer Posted November 12, 2015 VT Supporter Popular Post Share Posted November 12, 2015 I'm in the same boat - think I even defended him right up to the last. I don't hold any of the negativity toward him that others round here seem to. I always thought he was an honourable man who worked under very tight restrictions without complaining. I hope whatever job he ends up in, he does well.I have noticed though, a softening in opinions on him since that chancer Sherwood left. For me, TacticsTim showed what a (relatively) good job Lambert had done. (I appreciate I'll be in the minority on holding these beliefs).
VillaJ100
I've just bwwn realising the miracle we achieved in 2012-13. Green Benteke, and a whole host of lower division signings/academy graduates who in some cases (Lowton and Weimann) can hardly get a game for their championship sides. To be honest though barring some freak results (beating Chelsea, soton away, man city, arsenal away) we would have dropped the next year.
Popular Post BOF Posted November 12, 2015 Moderator Popular Post Share Posted November 12, 2015 Well I still like him and will follow his career and wish him the best. I also happen to think he'll be a success wherever he goes next and they'll be lucky to have him. There's a top manager in there once he's not given; or volunteers to take on; some mental pet-project. The likes of Leeds should be tripping over themselves to get him on-board. Although they're busy just tripping over themselves in general. I agree with those above saying Blackburn is a tricky appointment at the moment, but it's certainly not beyond him and they're one of the few clubs in the Championship big enough to be of interest to him I think.

I don't think I am exaggerating when I say at the time of his sacking Sherwood had the worst record of any manager in the top flight in Europe. It's like being hit by a drunk driver as you both drive the wrong way down the m40. Both are doing a horrible job of driving but the drunk one will still be worse. (Sherwood is the drunk driver on the wrong side of the motorway in this analogy obviously and the more I think about it the more it suits him)
sexbelowsound
Read that he was also in talks with QPR this morning. That could be a decent fit for him.

VillaChris
Not as good a job as appears on paper, Blackburn have no money, only one decent player in Rhodes who may yet want to move in January and he'll be working under those nutjob Venky owners so if he thought Lerner was frustrating... Had a look on that Blackburn site and seems a few are still expecting them to make top 6....well if Burnley are up there.... Tough job, be interested how he'll do there. Alan Irvine to be his number two apparently. Looks like Culverhouse and Karsa have been cast aside for good.

HanoiVillan
I don't wish him any harm, so I hope he's successful, but I fear it's a bad choice personally. Think Fulham are more stable and better-run. Don't know if he was offered that mind.
bose
Blackburn fans are delighted with the appointment and I think they should be. It'll be a tough job for him but I still think he's a good manager.

VillaChris
Well Blackburn won't be moving anywhere but sideways while the Venkys remain in charge and their transfer embargo remains in place so we really would have to plummet.
