Popular Post Ginko
I just don't think Lambert is a very good coach or tactician. I'm convinced other coaches could do be better with the players he has available to him and get them playing much better football with a lot more possession. He hasn't had an easy ride and it's not all his fault, but seriously, some of the guy's tactics, line ups and substitutions (or lack thereof) over the years he's been Villa manager have been baffling. I just don't rate him very highly at all, I don't think he has a clue. Edited August 27, 2014 by Ginko
villan501
This result is a defining moment not many mentioned lambert out recently and the BANG he reminds us why we want him gone clueless idiot
Brumstopdogs
Another wonderful result against lower league opposition. How many more years of this do we have to endure before people admit that Lambert has to go. Is it Lambert's fault that Baker and Bent missed easy chances? It's Lambert's fault that Baker is still in the squad! As for Bent his confidence may be at rock bottom and , if so, Lambert has to take some responsibility for that. Guess lamberts just unlucky we lost to bradford last year aswell isnt he? What are you talking about? I'm talking specifically about tonight. Nobody is going to dispute that our record is appalling, it is, but tonight it was not his fault. It was the players who couldn't be arsed to step up and stake a claim for that first team spot. DCJonah
I don't see how Lambert is at fault for the players failures... Is he credited when they do well? I can see the point you're making but overall the manager is responsible for results and performances.

praisedmambo
Another wonderful result against lower league opposition. How many more years of this do we have to endure before people admit that Lambert has to go. It's funny, because if we'd lost to Man City or Norwich, two teams we knocked out pre Bradford we'd hear much less moaning. By all accounts we should have own, and it's not exactly Lambert who misses the goal. We have no right to win any game. These things happen in cups very often...these results happen for us often - it's not exclusively a Lambert thing.

The Fun Factory
Oh deary me. Any vague sense of restoring some goodwill to our battered manager has taken another knock tonight. Yet another below feeble peformance in the cups, the pressure will be on on Sunday. Our home curse isn't going to be lifted anytime soon.
kurtsimonw
Regularly outclassed by lower league managers. We're going nowhere under him.

Vive_La_Villa
Sack him and bring in who? I'd say Crystal Palace are a more attractive prospect than us at the moment and the best they could bring in was Warnock.

We do have a right to expect better than the last two years. Hopefully we continue our decent league start Sunday.
Uncle Albert
How long are we going to accept such embarrasing results? for as long as that clown owns us and that clown is managing us. In the meantime our club is just going through the motions.

pacbuddies
Lambert is the manager and now entering his 3rd season. If he can't manage to get his team to beat the likes of Bradford, Sheffield United, Millwall and Leyton Orient over his tenure then he is clearly not good enough. For those who claim he has had a lack of funds and been restricted by Lerner I suggest they take a look at the money splashed out by the four teams I have just mentioned.
