McGregor1888
Something I noticed today, and other games at vp I've been to. Fans are always bemoaning are inability to keep possesion of the ball. When we are in possesion the vocal element in the crowd are urging us to pass forward. We make 4-5 easy passes across the defence and u can hear the tension rising...'forward...forward' they scream. Then the ball is passed backwards and the neanderthals are apoplectic....thus creating panic in the team and the player in possesion, who then feels he must punt it forward immediately to appease the idiots. Then it is described as hoof ball, that we are s**t and that's all we can do. Or is it just me??? Its just you blaming the fans for Lamberts inadiquacies of not being able to coach, motivate and instill confidence in the team. The problem is a lot of fans don't understand the time it takes to build and develop a team.
The_Lions_Roar
I don't think Hoolahan knew what to do. If he celebrated wildly it would look like he had bad feelings towards us, which he obviously didn't. I wasnt overly fussed when we tried to buy him but after today its a shame we didn't get him, he caused us problems today.

Cliffy Biro
Lambert can start planning now for the summer transfer market. Get in early as usual to beat the world cup hikes He'd have to be sure he'll still be in a job first, i think when were fresh from a win people tend to forget everything thats been going on in general. If he isnt shown the door he has to be told in no uncertain terms that another season like this will be completely unacceptable and he will have to do it without benteke. Until we tightened up and closed down in the 2nd half I thought he was excellent for them. Bit ridiculous we couldn't pay a bit more to get him, if it could have been done. Or the people (such as myself) who have always been supportive post more and the people who are anti-Lambert are quieter. The only way he won't be Villa manager next season is if he thinks he's not getting a fair shot and is being overly restricted on finances. villa_shere
Performances like that are few and far between so fans have the right to get on players backs for negative football. Lambert got it spot on today. Nothing really changed tactically but the players performances were raised 50%

Respect for lambert I'd guess That'd make sense, considering Lambert pretty much made his career.
useless
Hughton hasn't been playing him and when he does today you get the sense it was out of spite because they were playing against us. Maybe Hoolahan is just angry although you could see he was definitely trying. It was probably a mixture of a few things, he did do his little fist pump and it was early on in the match. MikeMcKenna Posted March 2, 2014 VT Supporter Share Posted March 2, 2014 (edited) I don't know if this has been posted but following our third goal, Lambert celebrated and then immediately turned to a Villa fan behind the Norwich dugout who I assume had been giving him grief. Lambert was gesticulating that he wanted a word and shouting at this bloke who then came rushing down the front row to the edge of the Villa dugout and was pounced on by a few fans and security. Lambert took his coat off as if he was going to go toe to toe for a scrap and was going crazy. The "fan" was escorted away by a couple of security fans and I assume thrown out. If you have video'd the game, watch how lambert snaps round and looks at someone behind the dugout after the goal and a moment later you will see him without his coat, despite the fact that it was pissing down. It was probably Delia Smith after one too many pre-match glasses of cooking sherry!
