foreveryoung
Comon guys he is a 8m player all day. Played well today and it showed because 'most' of the team did.
heid3ster
I was impressed with Cleverley today and saw him offer something a little different than Westwood with his high energy pressing. Just as I was thinking maybe the two of them could work together in the same midfield after all, both go off injured.
itdoesntmatterwhatthissay
I was impressed with Cleverley today and saw him offer something a little different than Westwood with his high energy pressing. Just as I was thinking maybe the two of them could work together in the same midfield after all, both go off injured. Seems to be getting better with every game, plus looks very willing to put himself about and press the opposition. I think he needs a goal for his confidence, always seems free on the edge of the box, but he's becoming tidy and positive in attack and hopefully he can keep it up. Was he injured or just taken off as a precaution? Edited December 7, 2014 by itdoesntmatterwhatthissay

rodders0223
Finding his stride now and looking more comfortable. The guy is a class above when it comes to cmoposure and game intelligence. If we got Delph to commit I would be delighted with a combo of these CMs next year.
CrackpotForeigner
His shot was unforgivably bad. Near post, hard at the keeper, far post, cutback, whatever you like, Tom, just don't sky it ffs.

Villain-from-Texas
If he is injured are we going to have to re-call Gardner or Johnson? Leaves us with only Sanchez and Richardson at CM Herd and Bacuna, too.
Villain-from-Texas
He's a decent, neat and tidy player, but doesn't have a creative bone in his body. He created a great chance for Benteke at the top of the box in the first half.

nik986
His contract is up in the summer; on a free, yes, otherwise no thanks.
LockStockVilla
Apparently he was carrying a bruised foot going into the match so was a bit iffy is he was even going to play...so hopefully it'll heal up and he's good to go for the derby. sonic_bouma
Produced some woeful free kicks and corners once Westwood went off. Should have hit the target with his chance. He's improved slightly in his influence on games against dross opposition. I would still be gutted if we spent 8m on him.
foreveryoung
You won't get much better for 8m. To me he is a good consistant player, does the job Lambert asks of him!

Ah yes, the old "against poor opposition" argument, intimating that these performances aren't worth as much. The reality is they are probably worth more, especially when they aid us to win a match every now and then. I like Cleverley, but then I have all along. He's neat and tidy and he covers a lot of ground. I'm fine with him playing with Westwood too as long as they are the two less advanced players with somebody else closing the gap to attack. As part of a flat three his deficiencies are all too apparent.
kevpants
Absolutely worth 8m. Contributes in defence and attack. Remember he's only a couple of months off the back of a petition to ban him from the England squad and Old Trafford baying for his blood.
VillaChris
If he's worth 8m with a few months left on his deal then what on earth is Delph worth.
