useless
Keith Harris who's helping Lerner to find a buyer was on Radio 4 this morning. here, Sorry could you tell me im at work and have no time to listen! Most of it wasn't specific to Aston VIlla really. Did mention that there should be people looking to invest in the current economic climate. I think he was Radio Five Live as well where apparently he said if you find a good buyer then a deal should go through very quickly but haven't heard that myself. foreveryoung
Do we think Doug knows more than he's letting on. Seems in every interview he is dying (no pun intended) to spill the beans!
David-Copenhagen
I really want Man City style owners. I also really want Emily Ratajkowski to sit on my face. Both equally as likely. Not so sure I will send her your way shortly..........……… ahhhh that's it - now were should I tell her to go?

samjp26
I think the fact that we're in talks with Tamas is an indicator of how close any potential deal is. Answer: not very. fact:Nounan event or thing known to have happened or existeda truth verifiable from experience or observation It seems like a very strange thing to be made up. For your benefit, the 'speculation' rather than 'fact' if you wish.
lexicon
It's not really strange at all - it's just one of the billion transfer rumours floating around.
Folski
Personally I think people are quoting too much money. I think there are players in this team that would improve with better players around them. I think we should continue with our young and hungry policy, just simply go a few notches up, it's all well and good signing a player who is bossing league one, but that player needs to be bought as a potential option and not play every game of the season, that being said he does need a few games or he might as well just go out on loan to a Championship squad which could have been said for a lot of our players bought last summer. Don't expect us to charge up the table next year it should be all about solidify the team and if we can break top ten that would be a massive bonus. Errrr? Yeah if we kept Lambert an Lerner!! Going out and throwing money at players on the wrong side of their prime is what got us into this mess in the first place. Yet people on here are shouting for Lescott & Ferdinand. I'd much rather pay £4m & another £20k a week for another young Okore then pay the wages that Rio & Lescott would want. It basically means we'd get 4 years service of a youngster than in theory should improve for the same price we'd get 2 years service of the other two who, in theory, will be in decline. Stevo985 Posted May 14, 2014 VT Supporter Share Posted May 14, 2014 Clark Hunt fits everything that Kwan was saying. Owns a non to succesful team - tried to buy Palace for £120m - even down to haggling over price. I want him as owner. He sounds like a porno version of Superman

PaulC
Yes they have! Even Kendrick said get Rio. Unbelievable..... Thought Matt knew better than that... He'll be 36 next season, already injury prone, well past it.. wages.... Loads of reasons not to get him.
Folski
"Rio Ferdinand: The former England defender has been released from Manchester United and although his best days are behind him he would add quality and experience to a shaky Villa backline. Affording his wages, especially with likely lucrative offers from around the world, could be an issue."
Rob182
As crazy as it'd be, given his injury record, age, wages and loss of legs.... Would I be against us signing Rio?.... I don't think I would! I'm not paying his wages. Even if he only played 10 games in the season, we'd be better defensively and more organised in those 10 games than we have been for the past 4 seasons! smetrov
I read an article yeserday - saying our next owner was more likley to be from the far or middle east than the USA - At the time I thought it was a load of tosh as all we heard about was USA buyers - mostly from Lerners contacts over in the states. I am just wondering if those options have been exhausted and if Merril Lynch have been brought in to explore overseas options such as the middle east ......not that they would ignore them in any case....
