The Fun Factory
Like collymore is really going to be the only sports journalist who found out one of the richest people in the world was at villa park. Rubbish. I would not associate the word journalist and Collymore together. More like annoying and Collymore.
sexbelowsound
So, Journalists suddenly following Ellison even though he barely tweets? Either they are dopey enough to think they might glean some information from him through twitter or there may actually be something in this. Can't see any other reason for them to follow him. Popular Post Tubby
If indeed we are being taken over, have any of you thought about what it actually means for the future of the club? Let's be honest, a takeover doesn't have to result in unlimited funds, the world's greatest players and manager, or indeed success on the football pitch - plenty of clubs can attest to that i.e Blackburn, QPR, Cardiff, Blose... I've no doubt that Randy would aim to sell to another custodian with similar intentions but they are all business men and unlikely to be fans, looking to the future to make money from their asset. If you consider Man Citeh, realistically who next could own them? Is it a fair expectation that some random from the middle east will still own them in 25 years time after having thrown unlimited resources at them for the duration? What next when he decides to sell? Surely it will be to a narrow market in terms of who can afford them and ultimately the people likely to suffer most will be the true fans (not the numerous plastics of course!) whose team will achieve a steady decline thereafter. Chelsea might be different given the London factor but elsewhere any team would be lucky to see that again. I suppose what I am trying to say is that we need to be realistic with our expectations and cautious if we suddenly turn into a super club. I don't want to be seeing future takeovers in 8-10 year cycles from individuals that have never watched us but think we are a good investment, all the while they take a little bit more out of the club and potentially send us down the route of the aforementioned failures. This is Aston Villa, this is our club, the club of our fathers and that of our children. It needs to be here in 25 years time and it needs to be in a good state. It needs to be cared for and invested in wisely with equal measures of sound thought, judgement and sustainability at the heart of it. To note, this is not a ringing endorsement of Randy or a suggestion it'll not be so good under someone else, my view is he made strong enough mistakes that tarnished all the good work and I'll thank him for his duty but won't be upset if he moves on. I await news with cautious optimism...
Big_John_10
Its been so bad for 4 years and we have an owner who clearly doesn't want to be part of this club anymore. I'm happy to risk it.

He could have been hiding behind one of the seats. Did you check behind all the seats ?
villa89
didn't Doug leave £20m when he sold to go on players? No. IIRC he tried to claim that he did though. He did invent the bicycle kick however.
