Denis_B
Except Mike what would he gain at this point by NOT having a CEO. Steve Stride worked through the transition from Ellis to Lerner and you would think that any new owners would like some kind of handover from PF to their CEO. Steve Stride wasn't CEO though. He might not have had that title due to Dougs ego but to all intents and purpose he was. He was originally company Secretary but became Director and his day to day function was the running of the club and negotiating transfers. Doug was always the one in theory 'closing' the deal but Steve did all the hard work. Stridey sorted out the James Beattie transfer but when Doug met with him and his agent at his 4 oaks pad he spent so much talking about himself and served left over sandwiches from the Directors box Beatties agent couldn't get out fast enough - as it turns out a good move

TRO
like others i think PF has got the football bug and likes the high profile. other jobs Randy had in mind for him probably did not bring with it the "high profile" he craves. he has gained experience with us, so he probably wants to chance his arm without Randy at another club. StanBalaban
It seems that whether he stayed at the club or not, he was not destined to be CEO this season anyway. Is there someone else lined up, or am I crediting Lerner with too much foresight?

PieFacE Posted August 8, 2014 VT Supporter Share Posted August 8, 2014 Good for him. I wish him all the best. I believe he tried his best under difficult limitations set by our wonderful owner. Seems like a genuine nice guy to be honest.

smetrov
Linked to CEO post at Notts Forest Faulkner seems more like a high level adminstrator than a ballsy CEO - If they just want someone to count the pennies sure he will do fine - if they want an enterprising CEO who will develop the club, then they are going to be dissapointed. Don't think he will get it - and think he will dissapear of the football radar is a similar way to Mark Ansell

MikeMcKenna Posted August 13, 2014 VT Supporter Share Posted August 13, 2014 So much for all the rumours about the FA, another football role. PF has set up a consulting company which suggests his relationship with RL broke down. Good luck to him
Morley_crosses_to_Withe
The man who apparently didn't have any dealings with players, their agents, or their contracts seems to be doing just fine at the moment in his temporary role as Faulkner's replacement.
