Armchair pundits have been predicting it since November. They are about to hit the real acid test. Next two games are Manchester City (A) and Arsenal (A). I think if they come through that unbeaten then you'd probably have to make them favourites. Even if they lose both games, which is reasonably likely, you'd back them for at least the top four.

I feel like they're bound to peter out in March or so when legs start to grow tired and their lack of squad depth will show—but I'd love nothing more than to be wrong. I'd be thrilled to see them win it, and I'd go to see the movie. With Arsenal doing everything in their power to blow their best opportunity to win the league in recent years, I'm afraid Man City will finish top in unspectacular fashion, leaving a bad taste in everybody's mouth but Noel Gallagher's.

If Leicester beat city (city expected to take 2.25points from that game) then they will be 1.5 to 2 points behind city. So they will only become favourites if they beat both city and arsenal. (arsenal will also probably expect to take around ~2.x points from that game) Unbeaten alone isn't enough for 'favourites' Edited February 3, 2016 by gharperr

lapal_fan
I think they'll lose to City and draw against Liverpool, 2-2 (a bit like when we used to have good games against them when their 4th place certainty credentials were wobbling). Popular Post BOF Posted February 3, 2016 Moderator Popular Post Share Posted February 3, 2016 I want them to win the whole thing. I don't think they'll quite manage it. We know from bitter experience that March in particular is a very long month in football. But wouldn't it be great to watch Sky try to spin that into their narrative of the Premier League being the greatest league in the world I don't mind too much that it would be a midlands rival winning a huge trophy. It would be great for football fans as a whole, great for the story of football, crap for the overspenders who tried to break football, crap for the Champions League and fairly crap for Sky. All in all that's a win-win-win-win-win.
Popular Post lapal_fan
Yea, you just can't begrudge a small team doing something extraordinary. (I use the term small as in "not regulars in the CL")
dont_do_it_doug.
For years we've been told it's impossible to break the monopoly now. Would be great to have that proven wrong in the most spectacular fashion. I hope they win the league with their "kick and rush" football.
tonyh29
I'm torn on it .... I don't think they are actually that good a team and I don't like their brand of subtle borderline thuggery (from what I saw at VP ) but obviously I don't want Citeh to buy it and I don't think I could suffer deluded Spurs fans if they won it , which leaves Arsenal and well lets face it they will choke anyway so we can discount them from the discussion next season will be the interesting one for Leicester as having overachieved by such a margin with some fairly average players (Huth , Albrighton etc) next season will likely be an anti climax for them and this time next year they will probably be in a relegation battle Edited February 3, 2016 by tonyh29
BOF Posted February 3, 2016 Moderator Share Posted February 3, 2016 Well that's it Tony. This will be a once-off and it could be donkeys years before someone so unexpected gets anywhere near achieving it. So we may aswell let the madness reign. It's not like Leicester will become the newest member of the elite. They'll be raped and pillaged and be back to normality in a few years with one hell of a tale to tell and this season will forever be a spanner in the works of the Premier League. If I thought for a second that Leicester could sustain the level in any way, shape or form i.e. threaten our status as (long term) kings of the midlands then I mightn't be quite as magnanimous, but they won't, so I am

PompeyVillan
I've gone from resenting their success to absolutely loving it. That passage of play was absolutely amazing. Easily the best one touch football the PL has seen this season. And Vardy...
Zatman
I hate Vardy with a passion but I really hope Leicester can finish the job. They play an effective brand of football which is at least attacking and entertaining compared to other long ball managers like Allardyce and Putrid

gharperr
City haven't won back to back games in prem since October 17th. Good news for Leicester Preference for title would be. 1. Leicester 2. Arsenal 3. Spurs. Although arsenal/spurs are close to equal
