TrinityRoadSteps
Just back from the Nationals Braves game. A 6-2 win for the Braves. Close until the 7th then the Braves hit a three run inning to break the game open. Nationals Park is my 6th major league stadium visited and this was the first time I've seen a road team win. The ballpark is very nice but the atmosphere wasn't brilliant. Even while it was close. I bottled wearing my Mets shirt though, although I did see shirts of other teams so maybe I would have been OK!!

Washington fans are total noobs without a sufficient history of frustration and anxiety that would make them aggressive, let alone passionate. I was quite surprised really. Definitely the worst atmosphere of all the games I have been to
maqroll
Bunch of beltway beaurocrats who get comped tickets, the game is secondary to the palm squeezing. There are also probably some former Baltimore fans who lost all hope when Boston and NY had a chokehold on the division for so long, so they jumped ship when the Nationals started up again. parisvilla
Big series in San Francisco this weekend. How do people see it going?
maqroll
Good to see that division so close so late. Papelbon ejected for grabbing his crotch as a gesture against his own fans as they booed him off the field, lmao

maqroll
The team should suspend him for that. Bench him for the rest of the season and ship him off. I think he's a FA anyway, after this year...
maqroll
A day game too, there must have been about 20 kids under the age of 12 right in those first few rows.
kurtsimonw
Just seen Kershaw's numbers. He must be almost embarrassed to be that much better than everyone else.
kurtsimonw
Jeter gets the game winning hit in his last action as a Yankee, at home Pretty fitting way to end his (home) career. This is pretty amazing too. Edited September 26, 2014 by kurtsimonw

Felix and Sale are in his neighborhood, but they can't come close to his win total.
maqroll
Watched the Jeter game winner. The pitcher might as well have lobbed that ball underhanded. More or less staged, IMO.

kurtsimonw
79-83 is a slight improvement, tied for 2nd in the divison, 9 games out of the playoffs. I'll take it. No Harvey for the entire year, Wright had his worst season. Hopefully both of those will be back at a decent level next season and a trade for a big bat. No reason we can't improve by a few wins. maqroll
No idea. Any team is good enough to win it all. Wide open postseason. Should be a doozy tonight, too!
kurtsimonw
Os beat Tigers 3-0. They took down Scherzer, Verlander and Price - the last 3 AL Cy Young winners.
