SikhInTrinity
West ham and west brom making positive signings that I'd have liked. Hope we have some takeover news soon as I fear we'll be looking at relegation rivals with envy at how they're improving their squads. I heard the same things being said about Norwich last season. Keep Calm and watch the World Cup. Well I wasn't too impressed with the signings Norwich made last season. I know there's little point worrying about it but it will become a serious concern if teams continue to spend. We're in a unique position, we're the only club who has an owner open about not wanting to be here. Other teams will be implementing plans to achieve the best they can and we'll be doing very little in way of a plan. We'll be spending a minimal amount to try and remain a premiership team. Which we've done for the past two seasons. I don't think that means its a given it will happen again. I never said it would, merely pointing out we have been working on a shoe-string budget for a while.
HanoiVillan
I think it says alot about Lescott if the clubs that want you are Hull and West Brom. Extremely overrated and lets not forget Demechelis who had a nightmare at times last season was deemed a starter ahead of him. To be fair, Demichelis got a lot better as the season went on. He kept Nastasic out of the team as well, remember.

Be interesting what Albion do as Olsson won't want to sit on the bench.

tomaspg
We need a new owner asap, one that can focus on getting us some higher quality players, were looking pretty bleak squadwise. Really not confident well manage to stay up this season, just bored of hoping other teams cock up rather than us getting some points.
John
I think we could pay the same wages as WBA but we have an absentee owner who is not prepared to pay them. As custodian of our football club he seems more prepared than he should be to risk our status if a change of ownership is not as imminent as it really needs to be. Watching the World Cup has not helped either because players who could make a difference at B6 are there for all to see in the shop window but we stand like a child outside a candy shop without any pocket money to spend on what we see before us as others with cash go into the shop and take their pick. tomh621
Looks like Lescott is joining Hull. Nope medical at WBA today So it turns out all of that nonsense about how he was never allowed back to the Midlands was, in fact, the complete tripe everyone thought. Well, let's see how long his kneecaps last first.
Raver50032
OT - but Lescott's disfigurement was as a result of the childhood road accident - not some bizarre gangland scarification or beating. Would have liked to see him here.

Demechelis seemingly got better when he was bossing the back line (kompany went off or was out I can't remember for a few games) & he got better as the season drew on. I always thought less lescott a bit of a d-bag, remember him giving the holte end loads of mouth when playing for Everton. Thinks he's johnny solid
pacbuddies
If Lescott is available Villa should be bidding. There is no way he should be going to a lame outfit like Albion.

He has been available since the end of the season and we were apparently in for him last month, we signed Senderos instead as the word was that Lescott wanted to hold out for better offers. He has had his medical at the Baggies now. Edited June 19, 2014 by samjp26

samjp26
Not shocking though is it, especially in our current predicament.
hobovillain
I still believe that okore will become quality. So... Vlaar or lescott? vlaar for me Okore or lescott? Okore for me, younger and seems highly talented So why would we sign him to sit on the bench? He wouldn't sign for that either, that's why he's leaving citeh. Senderos presumably doesn't care about being back up, he has been most of his career.

When a quality player is available on a free (and I do believe he is quality) then you sign him. Can come in for 2 years and, along with Vlaar add real steel and experience to build on. I think having two solid defenders would breed confidence throughout the entire team. Okore will be that one day, I believe and hope but it is going to be a big ask for him next season. samjp26
Apparently Brazilian striker Jefferson's agent is in England and we're set to sign him, another free transfer. Played for Latina in Serie B last season. Edited June 20, 2014 by samjp26
