AValon
Does anybody reckon we will sign some players this summer, whether we are sold, or not? (For the purpose of this question - free signings do not count) I don't see how we can, unless Lamberts been given carte blanche to abuse the already threadbare chequebook. Lerners signalled his lack of care/interest and the ginger menace has kind of tied his horse to the FA backslappers gatepost. Unless we;re sold anytime soon, I'd say it was 'frees' all the way. Brumstopdogs
I don't think Northampton are interested.
John
Colback always looked Newcastle bound and it would have taken a lot of money we currently do not have to offer him to make him consider coming to us whether or not we had ever seriously wanted him. AndJo
Linked with Wes Hoolahan again in the Daily Star tonight. Can't see it happening for 2 reasons... 1) Norwich will not do business with Lambert as seen in January 2) Hoolahan isn't a free agent so Randy won't pay a fee for anyone as he wants out. I don't think people quite grasp that Randy wouldn't be paying anything. The club would. Whether the club spends money that it had our doesn't won't affect Lerner, it can only possibly be down to Randy not being willing to sanction the signing of players he doesn't think will be used or wanted or add value to the club which is ultimately bullshit in itself

Sunny*Nunny
So a picture of Hoolahan and a Villa fan has been doing the rounds on twitter, and Hoolahan was quoted as saying that he hopes to be a Villa player next season. Also rumours of midfielder Craig Bryson from Notts County. Disclaimer: Probably twatter b*******

Also rumours of midfielder Craig Bryson from Notts County. Disclaimer: Probably twatter b******* Bryson plays for derby doesn't he?? I wouldn't say no to either of them playing for us!! Hoolahan would be very cheap considering his contract and now Norwich are in the championship! Bryson might cost a bit tho! Which might rule him out as we aren't gonna spend money til Lerner leaves.... Or at least we won't spend much... Could maybe see him giving lambert the money for hoolahan as a thank you for working for him..... Maybe..... Probably not lol
Sunny*Nunny
Yes sorry Derby. Either way I think its BS after reading a bit more. The Hoolahan thing is obviously more likely, although Trent suggested otherwise so who knows.
samjp26
Hoolahan was the subject of a failed bid in January and a change of management at Carrow Road has done little to keep the Irishman out of the headines, with the 32-year-old seemingly keen to sever his connections with the club. Villa Park would appear to be his first port of call and their claims will be strengthened this week should Roy Keane be appointed as Lambert’s number two at Villa. Keane is assistant to Martin O’Neill in the Republic of Ireland set-up, and the pair of them have been quick to embrace Hoolahan’s undoubted talents. They are currently on tour in America, but the Daily Star claim Keane’s appointment alongside Lambert will be confirmed upon their return this week – and job number one would appear to be Get Hoolahan. There are one or two stumbling blocks: there is no doubt that City’s relationship with Villa isn’t as healthy as it perhaps once was. Plus, City are under no pressure to sell, certainly not financially. There is little doubt that Hoolahan would have his suitors - promoted Leicester are reported to be waiting in the wings should Villa’s bid fail. Reports claim the asking price is £2m – but that is likely to be a generous estimate. http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwich-city-fc/keane_factor_could_prompt_new_move_for_wes_hoolahan_1_3634377 Interesting idea that Keane could be a factor in a new move for Hoolahan. lp_villa830
We could afford Hoolahan if we wanted him, we would not have been in for him in January otherwise.
