Jose Mourinho

Got no respect for Jose. Been massively irritating all season. The Ramires comments are just very unhelpful.

Agreed. And people had the gall to compare him with Clough, no comparisons at all. Classless.

I think its rather debatable how much class Clough had personally.

Which is a step up from Jose Mourinho, who is totally classless. Brian Clough was a sincere man with profound values, who could conduct himself as a gentleman and a "proper" winner. It is sickening to even suggest they are the same.

A lad that I coach with, had to escort the ex head of real madrids physiotherapy department (he was top man under mourinho, but ancelotti moved him to the youth team and hired his son when he came in!).

Anyway he asked him about mourinho, and he said he's the nicest guy you could imagine, everyone loves him, and all the media circus is to take the pressure off his players, not exactly groundbreaking I know, but def confirms why he can get the most out of players and they love playing for him, even though he appears to some of the rest of us as a cock!

Does class win trophies? Surely the respect for Mourinho is derived from all that he has achieved over the last decade, not whether he is likable or not.

I think there are some rose tinted spectacles on show here about Brian Clough. Great manager but to suggest he is a saint is way off the money

Wasn't Clough senior racist, or made some kind of racist comment regarding Africa.

I'm willing to bet that most people of his generation have made the odd racist comment thinking it was perfectly acceptable language.

I think the apparent comparisons with Clough were what brought on the 'class' discussion. Respect is a different discussion completely, I doubt anyone questions his managerial credentials.

There was a pretty good story about him taking that fan on tour with him which backs that up.

Yep Clough was no saint and he had a big drinking problem later in his career. How football has changed. Johnny Giles lands a right hook on Kevin Keegan and he didn't even get punished for it.

He's spoken out about the Villa match in his press conference today, saying that the refereeing performance in that game could cost them the title.  He's also said that PSG should be investigated about FFP.

I used to like the bloke and thought his mind games were clever, now he's just an absolute tosspot who seems to have become a parody of himself.

We will have to agree to disagree on that one given that this thread isn't about him.

I'm not sure what you are taking issue with in those comments.

The 1st sending off in our game was soft and in my view changed the course of the game, had it not happened I don't think we would have won. So I think he is right, although the 2nd sending off can't be defended.

As for PSG I think they should be but the timing of his comments are obviously intentionally and to serve a purpose which is what he has always done.

So I don't really disagree with him or see these comments as being any different to how what he has always done.

It's the complete lack of any sense of irony.  Ivanovic at Stamford Bridge?  Should have been sent off but scored the winner.  West Brom's 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge?  Dodgy penalty in stoppage time.  I'm sure there are more.

The PSG thing, the timing is because of the CL match, but again there it's not as if Chelsea have scraped by on free transfers and youth players is it?

The guy's a whopper.

But the lack of irony or self awareness in terms of things going their way isn't new he like everyone manager has always been like that.

And yes Chelsea have had the benefit of financial muscle but they weren't subject to rules at the time. They are now and are seemingly trying to comply , I think he has a point.

I don't think Jose is any different now to he was the first time around.

Absolutely correct. The sooner he leaves again, the better IMHO.
