dAVe80
Think a lot of the bands that sprang straight to mind have been mentioned. Franz Ferdinand are another. Loved the first couple of singles, then it all just got yawn. Here's a controversial one. I really used to love Bob Marley, but I hardly ever listen to his stuff these days. I know it's pretty unheard of for a Reggae fan not to like Bob, but I just find him a bit dull. It's all a bit too easy. I suppose it's a little to do with over exposure. It's become a bit of a running joke with some of my mates. I went to the Windies a few years back and everywhere you went was playing Marley. It really stated to get on my nerves to the point where if his music came on, I'd finish my drink and go to the next bar.

Rumours are that's where Pub Golf actually originated from.

turnbull
Alvin Stardust, just shit, thought he was the shizz back then. And how about bands we hated way back and hate even more now? Def Bastard Leppard fits that bill.
JoshVilla
A lot of 'classic' metal bands that I used to like because I thought that I had to, back when I was first learning to play the guitar and play in bands. Now, while I have respect for certain bands and what they did at the time, there's a hell of a lot of bands nowadays that write outstanding music that stuns me a lot more than the 'classics'. Rugeley Villa
To be honest the bands i used to listen to years ago i still dont mind, but i just dont listen to them often. Oasis, stone roses, happy mondays. I was absolutely mad on inxs and still class them as a great band but hardly listen to them now. The late micheal hutchence was one of the greats

The late micheal hutchence was one of the greats I was the same with INXS, loved them loads but hadn't listened to them for ages, but Sky Arts showed a documentary on Hutch the other day I'm Youtubing their old vids like mad now. Sometimes it justs takes a spark. Oasis is one of those bands that I've ignored for years along with stuff like Crowded House, Simply Red and all that radio friendly nonsense. Rugeley Villa
Hutchence was a genuine one off. An amazing and gifted frontman. Tragic, ye I agree it only takes a spark to realise how good a band is or was

Rugeley Villa
Surprising, was not to keen on their early stuff although I've got every album. From "listen like thieves" up until "elegantly wasted" I loved.
vandaq
Nearly every popular and "popular" hip hop/rap artists. It already has a bad reputation but they really make it 10 times worse. It really grinds my gears when people refer to nicki minaj as a hip hop artist. As with nearly every genre, the more obscure and underground is totally different and much better.

Ironically if you watch their early vids, Hutch is like another 'Rats era Geldof.

INXS at the NEC was the worst gig I've ever been to. given that the ticket and transport were both free, and given that I've also seen Beverly Craven, The Style Council and Courtney Pine in concert, that's impressively poor

Though I did stay up drinking in the Adelphi Hotel bar with MH until they eventually kicked us out at about 4amNever my kind of thing as a band but anyone that buys me that much beer in one night can't be slated
chrisp65
most beer in a night after a gig - Earth Wind and Fire (bizarre but true!) best tip after a gig - Style Council - free drinks, a £60 tip (back in the day major money!) off the roadie, the mix tape they were playing all night and a roll of tee shirts strangest strangest strangest thing - got given a biro drawing of David Bowie by the lead singer of Bauhaus, gave it to me like it was a big deal, I said thanks and waited until he went off to bed before binning it (story pre dates e-bay)
