dAVe80
I was in a minority and quite liked 'Lulu' the Lou R / Metallica collaboration of a couple of years ago. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HC9Z_D8hFiA The best thing about that album is, it really upsets Metallica fans, when you tell them it's the best album Metallica ever made.

MakemineVanilla
Lou Reed's music always sounded more like art than a commodity. Magic and Loss was very significant to me personally. He was good enough to make a difference but different enough not to become public property, until Perfect Day was publicly executed.

Eames
I've had "Perfect Day" on loop since I found out. Not his biggest fan but he knew how to write a tune - proof that you dont need to be able to sing to have a career in music.
mjmooney Posted October 28, 2013 VT Supporter Share Posted October 28, 2013 I just posted this on Facebook: OK, I own all the VU albums (plus "Transformer"), more because I thought I ought to than any other reason. But if I'm honest I never much liked Lou Reed - too sleazy, too primitive, too... dreary. However, there is always an exception that proves the rule, and this is it: the live album "Rock'n'Roll Animal", where - uncharacteristically - the VU songs get the full-on FM rock, twin lead guitar treatment, courtesy of ex-Alice Cooper sidemen Steve Hunter and Dick Wagner. It's the Lou Reed album for people who don't like Lou Reed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7FdWPeHFAMk
