mykeyb
Bought one of these about 2 or 3 months ago for the mother-in-law as a cheap way for her to get iPlayer on her TV and thought for £10.00 from Sky that it was a bargain and at the time did a little search to see if they could be hacked to be even more useful. The view was as it lacked a USB port that the chances of that happening were pretty remote. Got back last night to find a parcel waiting for me and I had won one in a competition. Looked on ebay to see how little they were going for and found lots of them being flogged but with the useful addition of Plex on there. A quick google found out you can put these into developer mode with a few key presses on the remote and then from a PC you can sideload Roku Apps onto them through your web browser. 10 minutes later and I have Plex working on there and stream media of my PC wirelessly. It looks as though other apps can be sideloaded and I will dig deeper. A cheap way to add media streaming to any TV or though admittedly its no Chromecast.
