  1. Ian Holloway Phil Brown Neil Warnock All winners too then and so presumably all good candidates for managing AVFC.
  2. Some managers are born winners, Big Ron won cups at the Villa when we were underdogs, Fergie won the league last season with a similar team to the one that Moyes cannot get top 5. Lambert if he was a winner would have beat Bradford over two legs and brought the trophy back to VP. Lambert is not a winner and no amount of time or backing will change that.
  3. That was had to watch with the last couple left to go but got to say Well Done Jenny you are an Olympic Legend after that. Brilliant.
  4. I believe Jenny is competing later today.
  5. Grojean to Mclaren at the end of this season then as Boullier is his agent.

Yes I do and to be honest that's not the functionality I need really.
  7. You do wonder what was said / happened that both of the football people he brought onto the board left within months.....
  8. 105 million over 8 seasons...... 13 million (ish) per season.

    Smart Watches

New on eBay for around the £90 mark and version 2 is about to be released. Alternative is the SmartQ Z which runs Android.......
  10. Three have announced quite big rises in their "One Plan" Increasing the £15 a month (on 12 month contract) deal to £20 and the 30-day deal from £18 to £23. A £5.00 month increase seems pretty steep to me.

Would you recommend the Pebble as some of the options I am looking at like the Meteor have had the shipping date moved massively back and want a smartwatch to try out while waiting to see if the Google Gem really does exist and if its any good.
  12. Looking at all the news and rumours which have come out this week does anyone else think this is feasible. Samsung are the biggest player in the Android market. head and shoulders above anyone else in numbers. Google get concerned that if Tizen is a big success for Samsung there will be a move away from android by the makers and Samsung then become the dominant force in handsets. Google and Samsung have some lengthy chats and a plan is ironed out. Firstly Google cannot own Motorola, which probably suited Google to a point and so this was moved off to Lenovo. Secondly Google cannot sell nexus hardware at the prices they are as they drive prices down which hurts Samsung so Google will quietly kill the Nexus line and instead the Google Play Editions will become the Vanilla Android option for anyone that wants that option. In return Google and Samsung will enter into a cozy cross licencing deal which will probably include all the Motorola Patents that Google have kept and Samsung agree to remove their apps which duplicate Googles apps that are already in the OS. Samsung will try and bring OS updates online much quicker. If this is even close LG get shafted by Google, Samsung get to remain the biggest Android Handset Manufacturer for some time to come just at the point that it looked a little less rosy for them and mainly for us Nexus users we get to pick either a much higher priced GPE handset or a less bloaty Android friendly Samsung
  13. If I was a Norwich fan and found out we had sold a player for a lesser valuation than we had been offered previously I would wonder about the sanity of the people running my club. I wonder if Wes will just want out or will play them at their own game.......
  14. If Lambert puts all his effort into signing Wes and Norwich stand firm doesnt that make us a little bit stupid.
  15. Tesco are now doing Free 4G for those who might be interested.
  16. So Google and Samsung sign a cross licence agreement early in the week. Google ask Samsung to not duplicate Google Apps on their handsets and Samsung agree. Google sell Motorola........................... What next Samsung kill Tizen?
  17. So Google have sold Motorola to Lenovo. Didn't see that coming at all.
  18. Very interesting to read peoples opinions on being bought by someone like Red Bull. I am one of the fortunate one who have seen us be the biggest club in Europe, seen us win the league too and there isnt a cat in hells chance I will see that again if I live to be 100 if we carry on being the only club playing by the rules. Does anyone really think that Man City fans think that their league win is somehow devalued by the fact they have been bankrolled...I bet they couldnt give a toss. They will just enjoy being a big club, watching decent football and winning trophies. I want Aston Villa to be great again and quite frankly at this point I dont care how we achieve it. I want to take my son to watch good football played by good players who win matches and if that means my club has to sell its soul to Red Bull then so be it. Its only a matter of time before that happens or we join the big clubs like Blackpool and Preston North End.
  19. The Hive seems quite reasonable when you factor in its fitted for that price. The Nest obviously looks great and if you have a fairly structured life I dare say it will work very well. The issue I have which is why I am looking at Tado is that my wife works mainly from home but does go out and do visits during the day but not every day. The fact that Tado can work out you have left the house and adjust the heating accordingly is the perfect answer as she wont switch the heating off if she goes out and it will be costing a fortune. Now if Google can add that kind of functionality to Nest then it becomes quite interesting.......
  20. On the recommended software front try "Pushbullet". Its an app and an extension for Chrome which will basically show calls, texts and other notifications in Chrome on your desktop. Very cool. According to a couple of rumours today it could be curtains for the Nexus range as Google are set to get GPE handsets to market instead.
  21. So with Google purchasing Nest does anybody use or is planning to use tech to run their home. I have looked at the Belkin Wemo and Philips Hue ranges for lighting but not jumped in yet. I am looking seriously at some kind of smart thermostat for the central heating but apparently even if you could import a Nest Thermostat you have to bugger around with the wiring which I dont particularly fancy so I am going to get the Tado Smart Thermostat. The main reason is my wife works from home for large parts of the week so she always overides the program but then when she goes outs on visits she leaves the heating on which is costing big money. The Tado system works by linking your smartphone to it so when you leave the house it switches of the system and will switch it back on when it recognises your on your way back. You can link more than one smartphone too. You can buy the system for £249.00 or if you want to trial it you can rent it for £6.99 per month which I am inclined to do so hopefully in 12 months time Google will have managed to get Nest onto UK shores.

    Smart Watches

I eventually got my hands on a Metawatch and in all honesty its all a bit meh. It can do lots of things and being open source its got the ability to be tweaked but the huge let down is the screen. The one I got used a Mirri display which is exactly how it sounds. The background of the watch is a silvery grey so unless you get it at the right angle its impossible to read. I like the look of the Kreyos Meteor apart from the fact that it doesnt use a proper strap so you are stuck with using the one it ships with.
  23. If the rumours are to be believed I wonder what has happened to make Lambert start looking at players he knows from his time at Norwich. After all its hardly been his MO so far. Is he worried or only have a small amount of money and so has decided to stick with what he knows rather than gamble.
