  1. As a bit of a 2000AD geek and someone who was incredibly disappointed with Stallones version, I'm rather looking forward to Dredd. Think Urban is a decent choice for Dredd (slightly too small you could argue) and as a) The helmet is definitely NOT coming off 2000AD Legend Carlos Ezquerra has writing credits i'm cautiously optimistic. If this one goes well, then I can begin to dream of a sequel featuring Judge Death
  2. Heard it on the Pitchfork website Here
  3. New Fang Island track 'Sisterly' Happy stuff!
  4. He sounds like an impressionist doing a really overblown scouse accent.

That's pretty **** impressive Wendy. Well done
  6. Steam are currently doing all three of the excellent Mount and Blade games for £7.49 (instead of £29.99) Well worth it.
  7. Get back on WoW then, I could do with a decent Arena partner
  8. It was great wasn't it? Really tapped into the 70's psychological horror (along with elements of Rosemary's Baby etc). Which is why I was pretty disappointed with his (Ti Wests) follow up.
  9. Laurie Johnson - Dr Strangelove :notworthy: **EDIT** Didn't realise he did the Captain Kronos OST too. Double :notworthy: :notworthy:
  10. Nowhere near as good as this directors previous effort (House of the Devil). It has a really decent set-up in the first third; interesting, reasonably sympathetic characters, a decent back story to the main premise but then...well, apart from a decent cameo from Kelly McGillis, it just sort of stalls and fails to deliver on the early promise. Why can't contemporary movie directors grasp the concept of horror? So many new horror films fail at the absolute basic level...being able to scare. It's either the world being too desensitised or me being too cynical.
  11. For those of us following the GW2 Betas, there is another event this weekend. Been impressive so far.

Cheers for that. I've been told not to bother with RunKeeper as it has a (well documented) problem with not publishing your runs to the website once completed. I think I'll give Endomondo a go in addition to CardioTrainer.
  13. Was he the manager when they had that ridiculously massive (numbers wise) squad? Seem to remember that. Always looks like he needs a wash so he'd probably be a perfect fit.

    Running

Been back at it the last few weeks (after various injuries and lame excuses) and absolutely loving it again. Just doing about 2-3 miles a few times a week to get me back up to speed, but it really is remarkable how quickly you get back into the groove. Going to aim for regular 8 to 10k before August. By the way, can anyone recommend a decent (free if possible) Android app for running? Been told CardioTrainer is the best of the bunch so I'm going to give that one a whirl but always appreciate any other recommendations.
  15. I'm a sad movie geek mate, it's taken years of practice
  16. wan't Kill Bill part 2 in essence a western? You could argue that many of the scenes (and the overall narrative theme of revenge) were indeed from a myriad of spaghetti western movies, albeit with a different setting. There was also a helluva lot of Kurosawa Samurai movie in there too, not to mention anime and 70's kung fu (Sonny Chiba anyone?)
  17. I prefer your review to the crap spouted by some of the movie critics. At least you were honest
  18. That's the thing with him though isn't it? For all intents and purposes, 99% of his movies have been him showing his love for film and it's genres. He's a guy that lives and breathes cinema. He just occasionally needs to come away from being a fan to concentrate on being a director and writer. Like I said though, i've always been a fan.
  19. Tarantino has been banging on about doing a western for absolutely years. As a fan of his i'm really looking forward to it, and as long as he reigns in his 'borrowing of shots' from other movies (tribute is one thing, blatant rip-off is another) then I think it should be fine. In fact, if it's half the movie that Sukiyaki Western Django was (Tarantino had a minor role in it) then it will be pretty awesome. Although as much as QT would like to be, he is no Takashi Miike
  20. I've been meaning to pick up Amnesia for a while now (cue obvious joke about forgetting) as I'm intrigued by the nature of the 'run and hide' game play. I've read it's somewhat style over substance but I'm still looking forward to putting a couple of hours into it.
  21. Bought this last week (paid a tenner) and it's fantastic vfm. Cheers for bringing it to my attention.
