  1. If anyone has any interest in playing this mod, you might like to know that the current Steam sale has Arma II:Combined Ops (the games you need to play it) for £14.99.
  2. Either of them are well worth the money. There's an awful lot of (superb) game for the money there.
  3. Fantastic games. Playing Total War: Shogun II and Empire: Total War myself at the moment. They can be a little intimidating to begin with as there is so much to learn, but once you get to grips with the basics they are a joy to play. So much depth. I played the The Rome:Total War game years ago and that is excellent too. The only ones I haven't played are the Medieval ones, but i've only heard good thing about them.
  4. Most people certainly have great expectations of it.
  5. Whilst the thread is on the subject of Andrew Garfield and his acting talents, I can highly recommend watching Boy A. I won't spoil it by giving too much away but it's a hard hitting drama and has certain parallels with the James Bulger case. It also features a great supporting cast including Peter Mullan (one of my favourites). It's not exactly a date movie but if you like top performances (Garfield is bloody excellent) then I would give it a go. A few reviews here
  6. Amazing what abject failure can do for your bank balance these days.
  7. Yes, because Steam only caters for mainstream games and doesn't sell or promote any indie titles...
  8. Just out of interest, how did you get to see it early?
  9. It's £5 today! Also picked up Metro 2033 at £3.75. Hardly played it yet but graphics so far are beautiful (running on high end). I did a comedy double take earlier when I checked that deal out. At first I thought it was just GTA IV for £4.99 which in itself is pretty good. Then I realised it was for the whole lot... God bless you Steam
  10. You see that's exactly the sort of thing you should be looking out for in a performance. Gosling is perfect in that role. There is a reason for every little movement, every look, every hesitation. He studies everyone, he trusts pretty much no-one and he's a walking bag of suppressed rage. It's a pretty difficult character to convey convincingly, but Gosling does it superbly.
  11. Oh, and i'll echo Davkaus sentiments regarding Limbo. If there's anyone that hasn't played it yet, then you owe it to yourself to give it a go. At £1.74 it's an absolute bloody steal.
  12. I can honestly say that Steam is one of the reasons I now play more PC Games than console games. I think it's **** great to be honest.
  13. Thanks D, will have a look when I'm back home later.
  14. Watched Carnage last night. Not Polanski's best work (by a long chalk) but the four leads made it an enjoyable watch. Christoph Waltz in particular stood out win his beautifully cynical and funny role.
  15. Some great deals on there at the moment: Fallout: New Vegas for £3.74  Mount and Blade: With Fire and Sword for £1.99 Saints Row 3 for £7.49 With those three alone for just over 13 quid you get (by my reckoning) about 200+ hours of gameplay. I'm keeping an eye open for the remakes of the Monkey Island series to get reduced. Been meaning to play them for a while now.
  16. Ah, Ben Whishaw, very good actor. That reminds me, I re-watched Perfume the other day, and although it's never going to live up to the book (one of my favourites) I still thought it a really good attempt with Whishaw in particular giving a great performance. I won't be watching him as Q though, because as some people may recall...I **** HATE James Bond. Hopefully Whishaw will just do to Craig what he did at the end of Layer Cake and put us all out our misery
  17. Civilization collection for £19.99 Includes Sid Meier's Civilization® IV, Sid Meier's Civilization® III Complete, Civilization IV®: Warlords, Civilization IV: Beyond the Sword, Sid Meier's Civilization® V, Sid Meier's Civilization IV: Colonization, Civilization V: Cradle of Civilization - Mediterranean, Civilization V: Cradle of Civilization - Asia, Civilization V: Cradle of Civilization - Americas, Civilization V: Cradle of Civilization - Mesopotamia, Civilization V: Explorer’s Map Pack, Double Civilization and Scenario Pack: Spain and Inca , Sid Meier’s Civilization® V: Babylon (Nebuchadnezzar II), Civilization and Scenario Pack: Polynesia, Civilization and Scenario Pack: Denmark - The Vikings, Civilization V - Civilization and Scenario Pack: Korea, Civilization V - Wonders of the Ancient World Scenario Pack Ends in about 10 minutes...
  18. Battlefield 1942 was always a great WW2 shooter. Not sure how many people still play it though, so you might find multiplayer a little on the empty side.
  19. FM 2012 is on there at the moment for £4.99.
  20. I'm sure it will be brilliant once I get the actual mod to work. :| ***EDIT*** All sorted now. None of the servers would allow me to connect last night but this morning all seems fine.
  21. A massive departure from the usual MDB style, but absolutely superb imo. Basically it's an album full of old MDB riffs and arrangements re-written with a classical orchestra instead of the guitars and the usual Doom/Death vocal replaced with far more subtle voices (with some beautiful female backing vocals). It's been on heavy rotation since the end of last year. Fantastic to chill out to.
