  1. The Scouting Book for Boys is on Film4 tonight. It gets pretty disturbing in places but If you haven't seen it, it's well worth a watch. Thomas Turgoose (he of This is England fame) is excellent in it.
  2. Getting my Tax Return done and having more money saved for the payment than I needed. Not only a weight off my mind but a bit of bonus bunce towards next years return. Get in!
  3. Excellent character based drama. Well acted throughout (Michael Shannon his usual top drawer quality) and a nice, slow burning storyline about a family feud. No signposting of the story, nothing over the top and obvious, just a very well observed and well made movie. Same Director Jeff Nichols also directed Take Shelter (with Shannon again) and his next movie 'Mud' stars Matthew McConaughey in what's being described as another top performance. He's on a bit of a roll at the moment isn't he?
  4. I genuinely dread to think how drunk i'm going to get tonight if we hang on for this win.
  5. We're getting much more space and time on the ball than I thought we would.
  6. Watching this. The names of the 'celebrities' are just brilliant.
  7. Added that album to my ever expanding list - really like that track.
  8. He 'played the piano in the strangest manner'. R.I.P Sir.
  9. Still Malicks second best in my opinion. Days of Heaven being top of the pile.
  10. Yes, i'd echo the recommendation for The Lincoln Lawyer. It's a bit flat on the directorial side (has the feel of a TV Movie) but McConnaughey is great in it. As for Killer Joe, it's still at my number one spot for this year and I can't see anything knocking it off.
  11. Incidentally, for fans of the original if you haven't already done so, i urge you to have a look at http://www.oolite.org
  12. Because it is in the opinion of many, many gamers (myself included) still the greatest video game of all time. I can't even begin to explain how happy I would be if this happened, and yet dread to think of the hours I would lose playing it.
  13. Cheers for that one Coda, it had slipped under my radar and sounds intriguing. Added it to my LoveFilm list.
  14. One of my ever-present favourites. Love the stuff.
  15. Watched this last night. Not a bad directorial debut from Ben Drew (PlanB) with a fractured narrative that intertwines the lives of the main characters together. It's well directed, convincingly acted and gritty. My only real complaint is that a couple of the sequences drag a little and it could have done with being 20 mins or so shorter. Still, much better than his music eh?
  16. Really enjoyed it. It pays alot of homage to early Universal studios horror movies and If you have any knowledge of those then your enjoyment will be amplified.
  17. New Godspeed You! Black Emperor album. Brilliant as usual.
  18. Wings of Desire is another one of those movies I would put in the 'everyone should watch' category. Wonderful movie.
  19. My niece was at MC Expo today and got to meet Jeor Mormont from GOT (James Cosmo) Said he was a really lovely guy. She also met some of the cast of Walking Dead but apparently they weren't allowed to pose for photos
  20. Nearly 20 years old and I still vividly remember going to buy it from ST Records in Dudley. Still a great album. Tight as a nuns chuff and lyrically excellent.
  21. Decent amount of effort but unfortunately we lack the quality throughout the squad. Too many players not up to Premier League standard. Worrying times.
