Superb British drama, with a very powerful story and performances.
Very much in the Ken Loach ballpark but with a more expansive approach to photography.

Unsurprisingly absolutely superb.
Beautiful to look at, and much more 'laugh out loud' moments than some of his other work.
Even though the whole cast is great, Ralph Fiennes completely steals the show. He is just wonderful.
In a nutshell, if (like me) you are a big fan of Anderson, you'll love it. Although I suspect it might even garner him a few new converts.
about a 6 or a 7 for me ... opinions and all that but if ever a film stole an Oscar this was it
Yeah, but we all know that's because you didn't 'get it' Tone
One day, Jesus is taking a walk and comes upon a group of people who are about to stone a woman to death for adultery.
Jesus says: "Let he among you who is without sin cast the first... " SMASH!
Jesus is interrupted by a stone cracking him square on the head.
He looks at the crowd trying to identify the culprit who threw the stone at him.
Suddenly he gets a disappointed look on his face, and says "Oh **** hell mom!"
Has a lot more outdoor locations than his usual work too from what i've read.
It'll be interesting to see how those usual trademark aesthetics (attention to symmetry / colour palette etc) work on those scenes.
Utterly fantastic.
Based on the true story of Caroline Mathilde's (Queen of Denmark) affair with royal physician Struensee. The three main cast members (Alicia Vikander, Mads Mikkelsen & Mikkel Boe Følsgaard) are simply superb. It's also absolutely gorgeous to look at with some breathtaking scenery shots.
Very much recommend.
