Right I've bought this today from hmv, if its plop I'm gonna leave unsavoury comments on your twitter page. So there.
Nice of the producer of the film to give us both a mention on Twitter
What I love about it so far is that it's still retained the original game at it's core.
Elite remains my favourite game of all time and I can see me losing days to this.
He absolutely loved it, as did I.
When he finally twigged where we were heading on the journey over he nudged me and said "Am I here for an interview for the managers job?"
If there's anyone that hasn't taken the tour I can heartily recommend it. Standing in the tunnel, the team intro music belting out and walking out to the pitch certainly made the hairs stand up on my neck.
I turned around to my dad at that exact point and said "how anyone can't be psyched up to play for us after that is just beyond me".
Watched this earlier tonight.
Really, really enjoyed it.
It takes it's time, let's you get into the characters, builds the tension and then a great final 20 minutes or so lead to a nicely original climax (insert Kenneth Williams pic here).
My dad is 70 tomorrow.
He's a big Villa fan (as are most of my immediate family) and has absolutely no idea that we are picking him up tomorrow morning to take him to VP for the tour.
I know we're not exactly at our best as a club at the moment, but my dad is one of the most optimistic supporters i've ever known (never slags the club off or puts us down in any way shape or form) and he will absolutely love this surprise.
Genuinely can't wait to see his reaction when we arrive
I've read criticism, that it's not really explained why she decides to work as a prostitute, and as such comes across as a bit pointless. I've not seen it yet, so would you say that's correct?
Yes, pretty much exactly that.
There are indications, but the reasoning is flimsy, and the change is so abrupt that it detracts from what was otherwise a very well put together film.
Not as good as Ozon's usual work (especially In the House and Potiche which were sublime) but it's still worth a watch.
My main issue was that I never felt it delved deeply enough into it's main theme.
Not only crap but the acting was so bad I didnt know if it was done for artistic purposes.
The clue is in the Writer-Director credit at the top
This.
After his first couple of hit movies (Sixth Sense / Unbreakable) he completely disappeared up his own pretentious arse, never to be seen again.
Yeah, after I did what I always do when I first encounter a boss (panic, miss buttons, swear, run around a bit, panic, swear a bit more, miss more buttons, open my inventory for no reason and then die) I realised that taking out the Necros first was the way to go. Then someone had left a message about the lever which helped and the final section of the fight with the horse wasn't too bad at all.
Among one of Miike's most surreal and demented pieces of work. If you're a fan of his, you'll know that's quite the achievement.
Visitor Q is still on another level though
Happy Birthday my man!
It's also my Birthday today. No presents as yet but the drinking starts at 3pm after a meeting.
Cheers mate - you too.
Meeting? I've never worked a birthday in my entire life and have no intention of doing so!
Today is my birthday. I have already been treated to a plethora of gifts from my wife and daughters and I will be out for most of the day being entertained and drinking beer.
This cheers me up no end.
