  1. Never been convinced by Elba in anything other than The Wire. His other performances all seem a little one-note to me. Admittedly, haven't seen him as Mandela though and i've read good things about him in that.
  2. I'm intrigued by Penny Dreadful at the moment - initial reviews have been positive and I love the look and feel of it.
  3. It's very cliched and at times ridiculously OTT with some laughable dialogue but it's also entertaining and fun. It also has Ruth Wilson in it, which is always a bonus imo.
  4. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oSEOzimKnEY Not only a superb tune, but entirely apt concerning Villa.
  5. Done. In a nutshell, GOTY contender but never reached the heights of Dark Souls. It's the French Connection 2 basically.
  6. Dennis Quaid says hi. Actually so does Kirk Douglas.
  7. Determined to finish this bitch tonight
  8. Is it time for me to break this out again then? Oh, and well done by the way
  9. He also directed What Richard Did which I recall recommending on here - very good indeed.
  10. That's another one I own that I need to have a look at. Probably get onto it after Triffids.
  11. Just started Day of the Triffids. Been on my list for ages, and it's enjoyable so far. Gave up on the Dark Tower series halfway into the second book. I just couldn't get into it as much as i'd have liked.
  12. As someone who doesn't generally like live albums, this is my favourite of all time. Absolutely love it.
  13. I need to have a look at Mad Men. Never watched an episode even though I have friends who keep banging on about it.
  14. My main problem with watching 24 now is that since it first aired i've been spoilt by series that are far better written and acted. It just pales into comparison now.
  15. I apparantly went knocking on my mates door at 10 o'clock at night to see how he was. He invited me in for a drink and saw the state of me, which he very kindly offered to lend me a pair of his jeans(they were skinny jeans and he's a lot smaller than me). So as you can gather I looked a right prat, woke up in morning with no coat and wearing these super super tight jeans. I swear he done it on purpose, I must of had my beer goggles on because apparantly I was saying yeah yeah these are bang on, cheers mate. There was also a wooly hat in my room so I must of had that off someone aswell. I sometimes worry that I drink too much alcohol. Then I read things like the above and think..."nah, i'm a lightweight"
  16. That's rather lovely. I shall investigate further
  17. I don't have an XBox controller either. And as I said earlier, many many PC Games these days have the controller option (certainly most of the titles I have on Steam). Of course the default option will always be Mouse / Keyboard as that's how you control the actual PC. Anyway, you're just trying to get out of playing it because you know it will be too challenging for you now your losing your reflexes a bit...
  18. I've never had a single issue with the camera whilst using a controller (never played with a mouse/keyboard combo so can't comment on that) At the end of the day, if you're not prepared to use a controller (which is something the game supports quite happily) then you are simply not going to get the most out of it. You will also be missing out on an incredibly satisfying gaming experience which is the real shame.
  19. I don't see why you can't just play with a controller? There are loads of PC games that have controller support these days and it's not exactly difficult to install the software.
  20. Very good indeed. Given the subject matter, it did well to avoid any exploitative cliches and sensationalism, choosing instead a very matter-of-fact tone which worked very well. Acting throughout is top notch (Beau Bridges is particularly loathsome) and massive kudos to Jamie Chung whose central performance is superb.
