  1. I was the same until someone gave me a cassette of Blood on the Tracks about 20 years ago. Never looked back since.
  2. If you're going to quote it at least get it right
  3. Boreframe. I played it on PS4 for a few days after a mate of mine waxed lyrical about the PC version (he has over 300 hours clocked up) but blimey does it get dull very, very quickly.
  4. Same thing happened to me a while ago, it looked like King Kong was pointing at me from around the u-bend.
  5. Never got the hype of the first movie to be honest, a couple of funny moments but I just found it very dull. As for Carrey, he veers between great (Man on the Moon, Eternal Sunshine, Truman Show, Lemony Snickets) to absolutely dire (Yes Man, The Number 23).
  6. Personal Space Invaders - one of my all time pet hates. I tend to deliberately take a step back onto their feet for the lols.
  7. Totally agree with Stevo's post especially this bit... Absolutely ridiculous and lazy assumption.

I have a vivid memory of the first time I ever watched that. I was a huge fan of The Comic Book presents (Fistful of Travelers Cheques being my favourite at the time) and was really looking forward to seeing it. It was on quite late the first time it was aired and it was a pub night so I remember asking my mom to stick the old VHS on and tape it for me. Got back from the pub, shall we say slightly worse for wear, shoved the tape in (probably holding a dodgy kebab in the other hand) and watched it. All I ever remember watching it the first time was thinking 'this can't be this funny, it's because i'm drunk' as I was absolutely howling at it, literally hurting with the laughter. When Peter Cook appeared (a comedy hero of mine) I genuinely didn't think i'd see anything as good or funny again. Got up the next morning, determined to see if it was that good and put the tape on again. And you know what? It was just as bloody funny, and it continued to be just as funny every single time I watched it (lost count in the end) before the tape finally gave out. I've never listened to a Tom Jones song in the same way since.
  10. Mike, for me the best part of Breaking Bad is the quite incredible character arcs that take place over the five series. Where the main protagonists start and where they end up is a fascinating journey, it's also a journey which avoids many, many cliches and relies instead on tiny shifts and subtlety within each characters storyline which twists and moulds them into the people they become. It's also worth watching for the superb ensemble acting that brings it all to life. One episode (or series in this case) isn't enough to judge it imo.
  11. I was pretty impressed when I had a go on an Oculus a few weeks ago. Resolution was a little low which slightly dampened the experience but I understand the newer models (DK2) will run at a higher 1920×1080.

  13. Oh and I don't care if Morrissey is a bellend, The Smiths are **** brilliant.
  14. Oooooo, someone other than me mentioning Cud on VT. Think that's the first time in ten years Great band. Love The Wedding Present too.
  15. Sounds like a great idea... True If you're not a fan of reading I would give the audio books a go. I read the books (print versions) to start with, but fancied a bit of a refresh recently and gave the audio books a go. Apart from some jarring accents (no fault of the narrator, they came out before the TV show) they are pretty decent.

Genuinely gutted about this one. The Young Ones was my generations Monty Python and Rik was a massive part of it's success. The Comic Strip, Filthy Rich and Catflap, Bottom, the list goes on. RIP mate. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IzbcAem4bN8
  19. Can't believe Rik Mayall has died. One of my all time comedy heroes.
  20. I would rather be poor Is the correct answer.
