  1. Just back from... Yeah easily the best one since the first in terms of overall quality, direction and narrative. A more fleshed out story but absolutely no dilution of the gore factor. Fans of the series (like me) will love it and I think it may also surprise a few people who aren't as big a fans of the series. I can definitely see why it's been positively reviewed
  2. That's a sad one, a great actor and Albert Spica will always be one of my favourite screen villains.
  3. @dubbs In fact, get as much Fire damage stuff as possible because you'll need it for the Archbishop. I was using the flame dagger, flamberge arm, fire buff on weapon AND fire throwables and its still a tough fight (maybe less so after the patch). Make good use of the Spectre too and try to keep him alive for phase two of the fight.
  4. Yeah, they are words removed the first time you encounter them. I just used throwables. They hate the fire ones especially. Make sure you equip the cat ring for fall dmg too.
  5. Oh yeah at the bottom of the hill tram? As with other humanoids, just go around her in a tight circle and backstab when you get the prompt. Really easy once you do that. I've just got to King of Puppets before I logged. Supposed to be tough but I'm in the zone with the combat and have some great weapon choices now (switching handles has become one of my new favourite features) so I reckon I'll take him down next time I'm on.
  6. I don't know who you're referring to? Is she humanoid or a big creature?
  7. Have to say I'm absolutely loving it. Hands down the best Soulslike (not Fromsoft) game I've played and I've played and finished most of them. It's brilliant.
  8. Patch is out today. Lots of QoL improvements and quite a few nerfs to general mobs and bosses. If you haven't already taken down Archbishop then trust me these will be a godsend (**** took me about 30 tries in between bouts of level grinding).

    GEEK!!

I was a gnats cock away from working for Designers Republic years ago. One of those sliding door moments but overall I like to think I made the right decision* *I'm still really not sure I did.
  10. My absolute favourite Perfect Circle track. Its **** joyous
  11. Blimey mate, I had palpitations just reading that. Hope the rest of your day is a bit more zen
  12. Yeah, I've mentioned this a few times on here before but late 80's I was a HUGE Metallica fan. I think the run of Kill em All, Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets (by far their best album and one I still listen to) was phenomenal. I saw them multiple times live and to this day they are the only band I've ever travelled abroad to see play live (in Paris). I think for me, the cracks started to show with Justice for All. Some very good tracks (Blackened, One, Harvester of Sorrow) but the overall direction of more technical compositions, coupled with a lack of 'edge' and the loss of Cliff Burton (the effect of which cannot be overstated enough) just meant I started to lose a bit of interest. When Enter Sandman came out, I wasn't really impressed. It sounded way too over produced (thanks Bob) and yet again lacked more bite than anything from Justice or before. Still, it was only one track so decided to keep my powder dry on the album. My mates and I travelled to Nottingham for a 'First UK Listen' of the Black album and my response was less than enthusiastic. I remember distinctly loving Sad but True and Nothing Else Matters also stood out (for obvious reasons) but everything else just failed to make an impression. I saw them 4/5 times when they toured the album and pretty much every time they played something from the Black album I zoned out. I listened to 'Load' a few times when that was released (hated it) and every time they've released anything since I've given it a go, but whatever they had that ignited my original passion for them has unfortunately evaporated. They'll always have a special place in my musical journey but I can't reconcile the corporate juggernaut they are today with the fierce, fearless and exciting riff machine that I fell in love with.
  13. As amusing as it would be to see him flounder and fail at yet another club, I would rather he never 'earned' another penny in football again. Terrible manager and let's face it, not exactly a nice bloke.
  14. Here you go Mike. From Wikipedia: I know it's not your thing at all ofc, but theres many bands who have that style that i enjoy immensely
  15. Fortune tellers and Mediums will be first against the wall in D1 world. Horrible, cancerous chancers the lot of em.
  16. I think its fantastic tbh. As I mentioned earlier, I've barely had to use the parry and I've made it a fair bit into the game without it. The dodge mechanic is poor until you get the double dodge, no disagreement there. The initial dodge distance is ridiculously small. Some of the enemies do have very erratic attacks (wind ups are difficult to judge and that's if they even have one) but again it's nothing you don't get used to. The world and art design is kinda beautiful, they've also done a nice job on the shortcuts and making sure the whole world feels like a continuous entity instead of cobbled together areas. I also love the weapon choices (which actually feel and play differently) and the handle swapping gives it another welcome option to play around with different styles and effects. Yeah, I like it a lot so far.
  17. Oh god, I would never, EVER knowingly listen to Manowar - utter trash. These lot are more melodic Thrash/Death. I like them a lot.
  18. With thanks to @sne for reminding me this had come out. The Coffinshakers - Graves, release your dead. Flippin' superb.
  19. I'm level 50 and have barely used parry tbh. I use block quite a bit, but rolling and back dodge have been my go to for evasion. You can upgrade dodge after the first section of the game and that can help too.
  20. Really enjoying it. One of the best Soulsborne games I've played in a while. It's tough as nails tbh, but very satisfying.
