  1. Expansion pre-patch arrives tomorrow: Information here Patch notes here Excited to see it as there's quite a few hefty changes.
  2. I still need to catch up with WD. I got to the halfway point of season 4 (which was enjoyable) but i've heard the second half of that season was a little disappointing. I'll probably power through it though as the new season sounds like it got off to a great start.
  3. This has been the best run of episodes since the stuff with Simm as the Master (the first time) imo. The only episode I haven't really taken too was the Robin Hood one. I think Capaldi has smashed it tbh, infinitely better than Smith (although he did have to cope with the drag factor of the awful Amy **** Pond so that wouldn't have helped) and more depth and gravitas than Tennant ever had.
  4. Done some decent work again recently tbf (amongst the crap) Bad Lieutenant and Joe being the standouts.
  5. Those two posts made me angry just reading them. People are **** disrespectful arseholes sometimes aren't they?
  6. One for the horror movie fans. It's getting some incredible reviews at the moment and if what i've read is to be believed, it's one of the best contemporary horrors for a long time. Supposedly eschews the usual 'silence...silence ***BANG***!' scares of most modern horrors in favour of an effective story and well built tension. As a horror fanatic, i'm looking forward to it
  7. From what i've read we (the UK) have the infrastructure in place to deal with an outbreak and the threat is quite low.
  8. Yeah, there's some really good films on that list, definitely worth checking a few of them out.
  9. Yep, that's always the issue with these sort of lists. I have a standout favourite, but many, many 9/10 movies that are on a par.
  10. Really looking forward to this: Getting some great write ups and it sounds excellent. David Holmes soundtrack too, which is always a bonus.
  11. Utterly impossible for me to choose a ten but 12 Angry Men still remains top of the pile.
  12. I think I mentioned this earlier in the thread but she really was very poor. As for the non-existent third series? not bothered to be honest. I thought it peaked at the end of series one.
  13. Bloody hell, that is very tempting. I **** love the Electric too
  14. OK, so just watched Gone Girl. It's a very, very impressive movie. It has a really tight narrative, containing a labyrinthine plot that throws your perceptions around at an alarming rate, yet at the same time never feels convoluted. At 2 1/2 hours the pace never lagged once and I was pretty much transfixed to the screen. A lot of this is of course down to the acting and it has a great cast all round, with Affleck again showing that he does have a some depth and gravitas. However, it's Rosamund Pike that completely steals the show. Now as you can see by my previous post I didn't have much time for her in anything else but in this she is utterly and completely fantastic. One of the most intense and superbly nuanced performances i've seen for a while. Can't go into too many specifics without spoilers, but I genuinely didn't know she had it in her and she deserves every single plaudit she gets. The direction is as expected excellent from Fincher, who ditches many of his more obvious visual flourishes in favour of a solid storytelling style. I only have a couple of quibbles really - One is the portrayal of the media which I found so cartoonish that it bordered on parody and the other concerns a few scenes with NP Harris, but again it's difficult to explain with spoiling anything. So, overall rather excellent.
  15. Off to see Gone Girl in a bit and expecting the usual Fincher brilliance. It's an interesting one for me as I really don't rate Rosamund Pike at all, I think she's a very poor actress. However, from what my mate has told me my opinion is about to be changed.
  16. Half Man Half Biscuit tonight at the Robin 2. Can't wait, i've seen them a few times and they are always great value. I'll be interested to see if the play any of the songs from the new album (The wonderfully titled 'Urge for Offal' ) as it's out on the 20th of the month.
  17. Just started Hannibal. As a huge Mads Mikkelsen fan i'm now pretty disgusted with myself for not getting around to it sooner as it's rather splendid.
  18. Yeah but... "The film will be directed by Oliver Parker, who made Johnny English Reborn, St Trinian's and Othello starring Sir Kenneth Branagh. The script will be written by Hamish McColl, who wrote Johnny English Reborn and Mr Bean's Holiday." From the BBC article. Shame. Oh I don't think for one second it will be anything special, and i'm not a big fan of the original series (it's certainly no Porridge or Fawlty Towers) But that cast is fantastic, and personally I could watch Toby Jones read a phone directory as I find him just superb.
  19. The Dad's Army cast is **** brilliant.
  20. If she also claims to be 'wacky' or 'zany' then staple her head to the desk.
  21. This was in the first Thor movie. Definitely not what I was thinking. Never seen Thor.. It's definitely X Men, but my mind may be mixing up the cartoon with the film Wolverine? Giant robot samurai?
  22. Thanks mate, I might look into that.
  23. Can't recommend renting enough. Just play thru, return, get another game in the post. Costs around £10 a month. Who do you rent your games through Patrick?
