  1. Completely agree. Very similar to comedy in that respect. Which is why it's always a beautiful thing when you find an off the beaten track gem (as I've done many times).
  2. Horror is like any other genre of film, it has some very good movies and some very, very bad ones. If like me you have a love for the genre, and know which writers, directors and actors to keep an eye on and do a little bit of digging/research then you'll find some absolutely brilliant stuff. Same sort of thing that applies to genres of music I suppose.
  3. Yeah I did create that. It was less that I was excited about the signing (I did think it was a good move though) and more a reaction to us having just lost Grealish to Man C. It was supposed to be a nice bit of levity given that most of us felt like we'd been kicked in the knackers.
  4. Really enjoying Swarm at the moment. You can tell Donald Glover is involved in the writing as there's definitely a bit of Atlantas off beat humour and darkness to it. Dominique Fishback is absolutely superb in the main role as the obsessed fan. It's on Amazon Prime if anyone is interested.
  5. Just back from... A masterful piece of work from Scorsese. Powerful, emotional and brilliantly acted by the whole cast (Lily Gladstone is deserving of her plaudits). I was engrossed for the entire 3 and a half hours. When people say they 'don't make em like they used to'. Well, Scorsese definitely does. Nailed on for my film of the year.
  6. On my deathbed at age 99, my family gather around to say goodbye. I give them all a puzzled look and then utter my final words: "How the **** did Steven Gerrard ever become Villa manager?" I then pass away, still none the wiser.
  7. A long overdue rewatch of this tonight: Superbly dark drama with Gael Garcia Bernal in his first English speaking role, alongside William Hurt (excellent as always) and an early role for Paul Dano. Well recommended if you are a fan of well written, tightly plotted drama with strong ensemble casts.
  8. I can very much attest to this. When my youngest was having their severe MH issues a few years ago, after much advice on their positive affect we decided to relent and get a dog (neither me or the missus were dog people and we'd always had cats) and she has been an absolute game changer for the whole family. I genuinely couldn't be without one now, as much as I love my cat there's just no comparison really. Humans don't deserve dogs, they are **** ace.
  9. Tickets booked for Sunday morning - can't wait
  10. One of my favourite movies from last year Roberto - absolutely love Robert Eggers stuff
  11. Now that you have access to the hub area, you'll be able to buy various supplies etc and start a few npc quests. There's a vendor/npc who exists in Umbral in the hub that is useful for unlocking Boss gear rewards. I would recommend unlocking the Blacksmith next and getting your gear upgraded asap. It's quite a tough side quest, but its worth the effort to get some levels on your gear. Video here if you want a bit of a guide on where to go:
  12. Some people think that everyone watches the shows at the exact same time as them. It's maddening and I've already had a few shows spoilt because of inconsiderate words removed.
  13. He's primarily melee (as you saw last night) - but having healing and casting from range is always a bonus.
  14. Orian Preacher, considered the strongest starting class. Nearly went for the Dark Crusader as they look awesome but I wanted a class with decent spell and melee balance.
  15. That was good fun! Amazing that I killed her first time on my own playthrough. Pity the game made me same level as you as im currently level 174 Let me know if you need any more help for other bosses.
  16. Yeah you really shouldn't be struggling too much against her as she's the first actual boss. What class are you playing as? Are you using the npc summon? Or a human summon? I can give you a hand of you like I'm on at the moment.
  17. Yeah this. I do two days in the office at the moment (recently upped from one) and I think it's the perfect balance. Doing the grim motorway journey every single day used to batter my MH, and as I spend most of my day looking at and writing code I need peace and quiet as much as possible which wfh provides (have my own office space upstairs). I dont mind being in the office itself (once the shit journey is done with) and it's nice to chat with colleagues, but 2 days is more than enough for me and long may it continue.
  18. I've had two. First was with standard surgery and the first couple of days were pretty painful but nothing a nice dose of Cocodomol couldn't shift . I've still got quite a bit of scarring as it was a large tear that was repaired but nothing that bothers me tbh. Second was keyhole surgery (which I believe is standard now) and was MUCH less hassle, no noticeable scarring and less painful from recovery POV. You'll be fine and dandy
  19. More fantastic Satanic Doo-Wop from the brilliant Twin Temple. They've smashed that 'difficult' second album out the park. Nailed on (lol) to be amongst my AOTY.
  20. Overall, it's good and I'm enjoying it. The combat is solid, the variety of builds and classes is pretty extensive and the world is impressive. But...it has issues which for me stop it from being truly top drawer. 1. The level design can be overly complex which leads to easily losing your way and struggling to discover where to go next. 2. The checkpoints are simply too far apart, sometimes ridiculously so. I've had situations where I've just about made it through a particular tough section and then immediately been bombarded with another set of difficult mobs with not so much as a breather, nevermind a checkpoint/rest area. It can be really frustrating. 3. Mob density and placement is OTT difficult. You are often faced with 2 or 3 tough enemies, a couple of standard mobs and ranged enemies who can hit you from across the map all at once. It gives you very little time to enjoy the world and sometimes you just have to say **** it and run. I also think every single mob has way too big a health pool. This is where games like DS1/DS3/Bloodborne and Lies of P got it bang on. You had space to breath. 4. Not really a criticism but the bosses I've faced have been very easy. I've killed 4 and so far not a single death. Compare to dying to gravity and gank mobs and its night and day. As I said though, I've been playing it alot and I'm enjoying it 90 percent of the time. I'm definitely gonna try and platinum it and I dare say will play through more than once. I think you'll enjoy it
