Talking of Steve Oram, he was in a low budget Irish horror/drama I saw recently called The Canal. It has a similarly eerie, bleak vibe to The Babadook and Kill List (although not quite in the same ballpark quality wise) and is worth checking out.

I seem to remember Kill List getting some quite divisive reviews too (particularly regarding the final third) and I thought that was great. I think Wheatley is a great talent, so I have confidence that High rise will be a good watch.

I'm fully behind the OTDO74 protest and have been since the idea was first floated, but I think pausing the protest for the Spurs game is a very bad idea. Sorry.

Just finished watching this. Utterly fantastic and although I usually hate the term, it really is 'life affirming'.

Definitely one of the most interesting directors out there at the moment. He has a 100% record with me so far as I've pretty much loved everything he's done. A Field in England is a masterpiece imo.

It is awful, but I reserve an extra layer of loathing for 3 as it destroyed all the good work that 2 had done. (although I did laugh my tiny tits off at Vinnie Jones character because it was just soooo bad)

2 is a very good movie imo. I think it sits behind days of future past as the best of all of them. I'd probably go: Days of Future Past > 2 > First Class > 1 > The Wolverine > Wolverine (Origins) > 3

Played it at Insomnia and it looked the usual high standard. I finished DS 1 and 2 and Bloodborne and absolutely love all of them so this is a definite purchase for me.

Also worth mentioning is that these days the tendency is to pack the trailers for 'comedy' movies with all the best jokes from the full film. So...yeah if that's the best jokes then good luck.
