  1. And that is the key line right there. The comic book movies are only a small part of the amount of movies churned out every year. There is an absolute plethora of other movies featuring many different genres to spend time with so don't get too hung up about seeing trailers/images featuring men in capes and talking raccoons. Just go and find something you'll enjoy more, there's a lot to choose from Speaking as someone who has an almost obsessive love and knowledge of cinema, I think they're (mostly) great fun and look forward to seeing more.
  2. Yep, me too. Loved it overall, and despite it suffering from the same issues as the first series I think Marvel have really raised the bar with their TV shows.
  3. Fantastic actor when he chooses the right script and director. Utter bobbins most of the time though.
  4. Excellent film. The great Ben Mendelsohn played the father, and I agree about his performance. Although I'm yet to see him turn in a bad showing in a film so far, he's very much the complete 'character' actor for me. As for O'Connell, he's one of the brightest up and coming stars at the moment and is only going to get better imo (certainly come a long way since This is England). He has a really raw, natural talent and the sort of gravitas that is harder to find in the younger actors. Recommend watching him in '71 if you haven't already seen it Chris.
  5. I admire the hardline approach the new board seems to be taking and I hope he gets severely disciplined. I also hope whoever the new manager is never gives him another chance in the first team. **** him, he's a disgrace and epitomises everything that's been rotten about the club for so long.
  6. As long as it's more like 2 than 1 and 3 i'll be a happy bunny.

Yep, the background was way more entertaining than anything about the main character. Might give the first series a listen next.
  8. I'm still of the opinion it has to be Glenn or Daryl. If it's more of a peripheral character then Negan loses much of his initial impact, and that's hugely important to the next season. I'm gonna go with Glenn.
  9. Purson tonight and a chance to see the lovely Rosalie Cunningham up close
  10. Best episode so far. Really top drawer.
  11. She has a decent collection of performances to her name now to be honest. Good in Atonement and The Jacket (first thing I saw her in where I started to see some real ability) Excellent in The Duchess (her best role so far for me), Never Let Me Go and Seeking a Friend to the End of the World. Awful in a Dangerous Method though, and the less said about those bloody pirate films the better.
  12. Never let me go is a fantastic film. It's pretty bloody disturbing in places though.
  13. Yeah, I'm sure there are worse whiskeys around, but I meant it more as a 'mass consumption' type comparison to be honest. Not heard of that Paddy stuff to be honest Bri, but i'll steer well clear now
  14. Has Lambert got a portrait of himself up in the loft or something? He looks way too young compared to the broken man he looked when he was our manager.
  15. JD is vile stuff. The McDonalds of whiskey.
  16. What is it with you lot today and putting timescales on everything? She's told you she loves you, isn't that something to be happy about and not overthink? Bloody kids etc etc
  17. 85-0 to Chelsea. Give or take a couple of goals.
  18. I drink quite a few times during an average week. Have no problem at all with drinking in the house, in fact sitting down to watch a movie with a nice glass of wine or a pint or two of decent beer is a definitive highlight. However, I never ever drink excessively. I get a 'buzz' on so to speak, but in all my years drinking i've never been in a situation where I can't stand up / have no idea where I am etc etc. That sort of drinking holds no appeal to me at all.
  19. If they've dropped the ball with this (which is looking very likely) then I wonder how much future a DCEU will have. This is their two main box office attractions together on screen for the first time and if they can't make that work then where else can they go? One of the main issues I have is they haven't taken their time and built up a steady body of work in the same way that Marvel did. Instead, they've shot their bolt within two films and I think they'll suffer from it.
  20. It's getting some very negative reviews at the moment...
