  1. Nah, Nicholas Hammond is still the best Those films were sooo bad.
  2. FWIW I think he'll be a disaster and I cannot stand the man. I'm just looking to get a viewpoint from the people that want him here.
  3. I've been skim reading through some of the Civil War reviews too and it looks as though the Russo's have absolutely nailed it. I did have high hopes after the excellent Winter Soldier but I was a little concerned that the sheer amount of characters might be to it's detriment. Looks like I was wrong, which is great news. Comes out on my birthday too - looks like it could be a good start to that day
  4. What makes you think he'd be a good choice Paul? (genuinely interested).
  5. Anyway, watched this the other night and I thought it was excellent. Bel Powley is very good indeed, as are the rest of the cast (Skarsgard showing a lot more range than usual). There's a refreshing honesty to the whole thing which I thought was great. Certainly better than many of the indie-by-numbers coming of age dramas.
  6. I'm getting as bored of the 'oh no not another comic book film' cries as they are of seeing the films made. It's kinda stupid when you actually think about it. Here we have this absolutely huge industry churning out hundreds of films every year, of every conceivable genre and yet people are moaning that one genre is too high profile. Here's an idea, watch something else - trust me, as someone who watches 3 or 4 hundred films a year, there's **** loads.
  7. BCS has been utterly fantastic. The writing is just so good. I think Rhea Seehorn has really come into her own this season, she's a good actor and I really like the Kim character.
  8. Had a feeling you'd be piping up Joking aside, try one on a console Mart. They are incredible games.
  9. Man who wasn't there is still my favourite. I like most of their work to be fair but I really didn't get on with Intolerable Cruelty. **EDIT** Actually, after looking at their filmography it's only The Ladykillers and Intolerable Cruelty that I haven't enjoyed. I way prefer the original True Grit but I thought their take on it was an admirable update.
  10. Yep, that's next on my list I think.
  11. I think it will be him (Bruce) or M.McCarthy.
  12. Gotcha. As someone who has finished 1,2 and Bloodborne I thought I'd be looking forward to this but for some reason I'm really non plussed about picking it up. Odd really
  13. I listen to it more out of habit than anything else these days. It's a very 'comfortable' listen and I like the dynamic between Kermode and Mayo, so it's definitely something i'll continue to check out. As for Kermode, like all good critics I agree with some of his reviews and can sometimes be vehemently opposed to them, but what he does have which is undeniable is a vast knowledge of the industry and it's genres. For that alone I genuinely respect his views.
  14. Not gonna lie - that looks **** epic.
  15. Supported by the faithful - Owned by the absent.
  16. Bathams followed by Laphroaig. Quite drunk if I'm honest
  17. West Ham come back from 2 nil down to 2-2. Good match now to be fair.
  18. Ashes to Ashes Black Friday As the Worm Turns Evidence Everything's Ruined But as they are in my top five bands of all time I could have chosen a boatload
  19. Off to see them in Bristol this month - really looking forward to it as they are supposed to knock it out the park in a live environment
  20. It was good though to be fair. Not quite up there with the fight I saw between a Kraken and 74 funny Michael McIntyre's - but still good.
