Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats (+ Vodun) tonight at Mama Roux's in Brum. First time i've been to the MR part of The Rainbow Venues and it's supposed to be a great venue with an 'American South' vibe to it.

Yeah it's good mate. It works mostly due to the excellent ensemble cast that surrounds Ray - there are some real heavyweight performances that he can play off. The writing is pretty tight and there's some snappy dialogue too. It's a consistent 7/8 out of 10 for me.

When I first started watching I made the mistake of looking for redeeming features amongst the group. Wasn't until three episodes or so in that I realised they don't have any and that's the point. It's brilliant comedy.

Peter Vaughan To some of the younger generation he'll be Master Aemon from GoT, but to me he'll always be Harry Grout. Story here

Very good finale to Westworld. Nothing too OTT just well written and satisfying. A great series, and another hit for HBO.

Scrooge (Alistair Sim) It's a Wonderful Life Bad Santa Scrooged Muppets Xmas Carol With Jingle all the Way and National Lampoons Xmas Vacation being by far the worst.

Watched The Greasy Strangler last night. One of the most wonderfully grotesque and hugely funny black comedies I've seen for a long time. Part Napoleon Dynamite, part early Peter Jackson it's a disgusting treat TRAILER IS VERY MUCH NSFW!!!

I think it's great fun and as i've explained previously have very little knowledge of the series.

Chips and gravy. Bloody lovely. Not sure I'm keen on the idea of gravy on my fish though. That shit needs to be crisp.

I wanted to go to that just for the Twilight Sad. But over a hundred notes seemed excessive for the support band.
