Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats (+ Vodun) tonight at Mama Roux's in Brum.
First time i've been to the MR part of The Rainbow Venues and it's supposed to be a great venue with an 'American South' vibe to it.
Yeah it's good mate.
It works mostly due to the excellent ensemble cast that surrounds Ray - there are some real heavyweight performances that he can play off.
The writing is pretty tight and there's some snappy dialogue too. It's a consistent 7/8 out of 10 for me.
When I first started watching I made the mistake of looking for redeeming features amongst the group.
Wasn't until three episodes or so in that I realised they don't have any and that's the point.
It's brilliant comedy.
The one with the 'continous' tracking shot?
Haven't seen it yet as I've only recently started watching the show (just started season 6) but I've heard a lot about it.
Scrooge (Alistair Sim)
It's a Wonderful Life
Bad Santa
Scrooged
Muppets Xmas Carol
With Jingle all the Way and National Lampoons Xmas Vacation being by far the worst.
Watched The Greasy Strangler last night.
One of the most wonderfully grotesque and hugely funny black comedies I've seen for a long time.
Part Napoleon Dynamite, part early Peter Jackson it's a disgusting treat
TRAILER IS VERY MUCH NSFW!!!
