OK, I've only just become aware of this and from the gameplay video I watched it looks right up my street (a little bit of Ni No Kuni in there which is never a bad thing) so i'm going to ask the standard 'Do I need to have played any of the other games to play this?' question.
Couple of episodes left and it's very much in the 'OK but could have been so much better' bracket for me.
I don't mind Finn Jones casting as much as some people seem to have but I think he's been short-changed by the script for the most part.
Nice to see the lovely Rosario Dawson given a decent amount of screen time though. My lord, I love that woman
Finished it.
Not much left to say really except to reiterate what i've already said - best PS4 game by a considerable margin.
Just as an aside, it's nice to see a game with a strong ending for a change. The last few missions are excellent.
I don't think i'm too far off finishing the main story on this now. I've taken my time and done a shed load of the side missions and errands as none of them are boring 'fetch' quests.
For me, it's the best game on the PS4 bar none.
I don't see any reason why there isn't room for all genres. I watch a very wide range of movies and to me a good movie is a good movie, irrespective if the main characters are wearing capes or not.
Plus, to expand slightly on this.
Look at Deadpool and Logan. Yes, comic book movies but hardly run of the mill and quite creatively risky. Would they have existed had some of the other Marvel movies not come before? No chance in my opinion.
I understand the point but I have to go by my own experiences. For me I've seen no drop off in great movies since the Marvel / DC franchises began their new output. Like you say it's unquantifiable.
Is the correct answer.
Don't like them? bored with them? simple, don't watch them. There is a huge amount of other films from many other genres to invest in.
My parents bought me Snap as my eldest sister kept complaining that I constantly borrowed her 7 inch singles (Beat Surrender and Down in the Tube Station at Midnight being the usual victims) and I still remember it being one of the most fantastic Xmas gifts I'd ever had.
I had a Kinks compilation cassette the same year which in my mind definitely made me a bona fide Mod.
A trip with school to London the following year and the purchase of a Jam inch wide tie from Carnaby Street just enforced the belief.
My mom taking me to Birmingham to buy a German parka the year after was the icing on the cake though. That was a great birthday
The kids at school took the piss of course, but they were idiots who didn't even understand when I asked my history teacher Mrs Jones how old Berts lumbago was.
Still remember getting a copy of Snap on cassette when I was 11 or 12. I'd heard the singles of course but that compilation was a game changer for me.
Great memories
