  1. Went to see Whores (oo-er) and Big Business on Tuesday night in Brum. Terrific gig at Mama Roux's (decent venue) with the stand out being Coady Willis (he's played with Melvins in the past) who has to be one of the most incredible drummers i've ever seen, and i've seen thousands. I don't think he's actually human They produce such a terrific sound for a two-piece (drummer and bass player/singer) and i'd definitely be up for seeing them again. Tonight, it's Alunah at the Flapper in Brum which should be a good night.
  2. I'm not an expert by any means, but i'm familiar enough with the genre to recognise the influences. I've been having a read through some of the 'starter guides' for the game and bloody hell, the amount of depth is both encouraging and daunting
  3. Season 2 is even better for me and is up there with some of the best TV. Can't wait for the new series.
  4. That bit was fantastic! One thing that stood out from my brief (hour and a half) first play last night was the lack of hand holding. When I was looking for the platform change etc, I was smiling to myself at how it lacked many common video game 'signposting'. I found it very refreshing indeed. From what i've seen so far, I think it's going to be great. I adore the design style, and the typography is lovely (the designer coming out there) and even from the brief amount i've played it seems to have a very dark undercurrent and themes... which I find very interesting. Can't wait to put some serious hours into it over the weekend for a clearer picture.
  5. It's not even secret Irrational? Maybe, but he just makes my skin crawl. I loved Band of Brothers but he was still like fingernails down a blackboard to me.
  6. Gave up after the first season of Homeland. Didn't rate it at all.
  7. Currently: Stardew Valley Kingdom Hearts HD 1.2 and 2.5 remixes Persona 5 Carmageddon All PS4.
  8. Picking it up tomorrow after work so cheers for the heads up about the first hour. I'm sure I'll get into it. Does it have difficulty settings by the way?
  9. Well, that was just bloody daft So much bad writing and yet... I still enjoyed it.
  10. There's this annoying trend in trailers at the minute where a well known (usually pop) song gets slowed down or recorded by a different artist in a melancholic style. It worked on a few initially but it feels like it's every other trailer now.
  11. Christ that choice of music is horrendous.
  12. Yep, just got back from seeing it and it was very enjoyable indeed. Absolutely superb visually, the story rattles along at a great pace and it certainly doesn't outstay it's welcome.
  13. Yep, popping up to ST Records in Dudley to pick up an American import i'd pre-ordered and then getting back home and playing it. Just great times.
  14. Taika Waititi innit? Of course it's good
  15. This for me every time. Also, one of life's great pleasures is putting on the headphones and having a first listen to a new album by an artist / band you adore. Love it.
  16. I watched the Gamespot review earlier today. Colour me excited.
  17. I thought it blended the political aspect of life during wartime very well with the foreboding horror. It was brilliantly acted too, such naturalistic performances. I found it hard to fault to be honest.
  18. Popping to see it after work tomorrow. It looks visually stunning and the reviews haven't been too shabby so I'm going in with an open mind. It's been years since I watched the animated version.
  19. Yep. Never has a piece of tape on a window been so creepy. Each to their own eh.
