  1. Sorry to quote myself, but the line above is the most important thing for me. It's very much A to B, then move swiftly on to C in storytelling terms but that helps immensely. I was surprised by just how much I enjoyed it.
  2. A smaller badge and remove that ridiculous chequered pattern and the away shirt would be a belter.
  3. Well Wonder Woman is a cracking slice of entertainment. Goes without saying that it's comfortably DCEU's best movie (not difficult really) It all rattles along at a good pace and a very straightforward narrative means that pace doesn't drop. There's some cracking set pieces, the highlight of which is a scene in no mans land (superbly shot) followed by a battle in a German occupied village. Gal Gadot is decent enough, if something of a mixed bag - she's great in the action scenes but less so when she has to do anything dramatic (she is bloody lovely though). My only real gripe is the last 20 minutes or so shift into very predictable comic book territory, but I can forgive that to be honest as the rest is such good fun. Hopefully this will mark an upturn in the quality of the DC releases, although from what i've seen of Justice League, i'm still very sceptical.
  4. Where's the thread starter gone? (particularly as there's a GE around the corner)
  5. I like that a lot. Clean lines, neat trim on the sleeves and the opacity of the lion knockback means they add rather than distract from the overall look. 8/10 WB.
  6. Roy Barraclough That's a shame - great comic actor, particularly loved his work with Les Dawson.
  7. I know i'm not the target demographic (never liked Oasis apart from a couple of tunes) but that just sounds so bloody bland and characterless to me.
  8. This version on the PS2 was great fun back in the day:
  9. First episode of the Handmaids Tale was very good indeed. Elizabeth Moss was of course as amazing as always.
  10. Well, it looks as though DC have finally got it right. The early reviews of Wonder Woman are very positive indeed.
  11. Re-bought Witcher 3 so i've been caning that (playing Gwent this time though, lord knows why I didn't like it the first time - it's amazing!) also re-bought MGS 5 Phantom Pain - that's one i'll dip into from time to time, and as I didn't finish it the first time there's plenty of gameplay in there for me. Resi 4 on the PS4 - one of my fave games of all time and it's great to play through again at 60fps and 1080 (i'll never forgive @The_Rev for telling me to shoot the water in the lake on the original Gamecube version ) Prey - decent so far, has a kind of HL2 vibe to it and is way more exploratory based than combat.
  12. I think you're going to see a slight difference in writing and acting between those two shows
  13. "**** off Snow White, just **** off..."
  14. You couldn't ask for better motivation than that mate - good luck with it
  15. I think that's a key line there. @Rugeley Villa Do you think the missus simply believes you won't stick to it mate? And that's why she's reluctant to 'join in' so to speak? As Bri says, maybe if she saw you trying for a while she might help out? Just my tuppence like.
  16. Yeah, to be honest one of the few drawbacks to working for yourself is the loss of paid leave. It's kind of a double whammy for me when I want to take the wife and kids away as I have to 1) pay for the holiday (obviously) but 2) lose a week or so of income. It's not as bad the last few years as I have special side fund put away for it, but it still stings the pocket a bit.
  17. Blimey! That's pretty good isn't it? When I used to work for other folks I seem to remember around 22 was the norm.
  18. This week's Better Call Saul... Hats off to Rhea Seehorn. Always thought she was a great actress but she totally knocked it out the park this week. Absolutely incredible performance.
