  1. Just read that Ren Osugi (prolific Japanese actor) died a few days ago
  2. Yep me too now. It only took 25 years but hey ho
  3. Yep that's pretty much my take on it.
  4. Re. The ending... Good movie though.
  5. Still got the photos from that. A very, very colourful affair with much jelly and ice cream and me banging on a drum that my mom had made for me out of a Quality Street tin
  6. Yep, I saved a load of my grant money because I lived at home during my uni years. As soon as I left I went and bought a Gibson SG and a new amp with the cash. Thanks govt.
  7. Just realised I've missed off Toast of London, The Day Today and Alan Partridge (for shame)
  8. No particular order: Spaced Peep Show Fawlty Towers The Office Garth Marenghi IT Crowd Black Books Father Ted Red Dwarf Porridge
  9. Live music, beer and decent company. Perfect combination.
  10. Absolutely bang on. Fawlty Towers is still my favourite of all time. The longevity of the humour in the writing shows how outstanding the show is/was. As for The Office, it's perfect. A brilliantly observed, funny and sometimes touching masterclass. The only recent British comedy that has come close to those two is The Detectorists. Although that's very much in the more whimsical mode.
  11. I'll be interested in your thoughts. In particular the ending..
  12. Definitely my favourite...
  13. The real reason everyone is nice to your character...
  14. Yeah, I've mentioned The Room a fair few times down the years on here. It's an absolute must see if you have any real interest in truly awful film making. It's a case study of genuinely funny and almost absurd incompetence. I'd recommend doing a double bill of it and The Disaster Artist (which i thought was superb) to anyone.
  15. "You have big sheds, but nobody's allowed in. And in these sheds you have 20ft high chickens, and these chickens are scared because the don't know why they're so big, and they're going, "Oh why am I so massive?" and they're looking down at all the little chickens and they think they're in an aeroplane because all the other chickens are so small."
  16. That's exactly the reason my first reaction was a 'bloody hell! Really?' type reaction. Always saddens me to see that sort of outdated thinking is still around. Much more education still required it seems.
  17. Yeah i was very surprised as he's a big Marvel fan and very invested in the universe. He pointed out quite a few issues, but his main criticism was that he found Boseman to be something of a charisma vacuum.
  18. Haven't seen it yet myself, but it does seem that the critics have enjoyed it more than the public. A friend of mine (whose judgment is usually decent) said it was his least favourite Marvel movie since Iron Man 2.
  19. Off to see the lovely Butcher Babies this Friday in Brum... And just read the Chelsea Wolfe will be supporting Ministry on their UK tour this year. A double whammy for me with Ministry being one of my favourite bands of the last 20 years or so and Chelsea Wolf being on my 'need to see live' list. So yeah, this...
  20. Needs more cowbell. Like that Rob, very well put together. You'd almost pass as a professional
