  1. Yeah it's on my to watch list. Looks right up my street and it's got a cracking cast.
  2. I'm only 5 hours in and I'm really enjoying it so far. Having said that, the RTS section I played was very sub par and seemed to have been imported from a different game.
  3. I have all the Specialist followers now, and their story quests have been some of the best parts of the game. I took Faith down (parts of that are bloody annoying) and have made in roads into the other two siblings. I'm going to leave the main missions for a while now though and concentrate on getting all the perks via the Challenge system. I think one of the things I've enjoyed the most is the more organic way the world is discovered. Much much better having to actually travel somewhere, or speak to someone to unlock things rather than the archaic 'climb a tower' method from the previous games. Apparently there's a 'space' gun somewhere...
  4. I thought it had potential but ended up very average and nothing that I hadn't seen quite a few times before. Good performances though. Nowhere near Rec 1 or 2 for me.
  5. Original version (one of my favourite films ever) or shite Julia Roberts remake?
  6. Different strokes and all that. I've got blind spots for several critically acclaimed gaming series and in some cases whole genres. It's what floats (and then subsequently blows up) your boat.
  7. Have to say that NNK 2 has gone on the back burner for a bit as this is just addictive as hell atm.
  8. Haven't had any major issues with the controls, I find them very intuitive. The only bugbear with them is Loot/Take issue that was mentioned above. I've put about 20 or so hours in now and it's just a massive slice of destructive fun. The only things I haven't enjoyed so far are the story missions that hit as soon as you get to a certain threat level with the 3 main siblings (they are a ball ache as they take you out of the game for a while) and the bloody planes that seem to constantly track you down, again as soon as a certain threat level is reached. Apart from that it's an absolute hoot and a game that goes out of it's way to make sure you have fun.
  9. Cheeseburger!
  10. It's an interesting setting and concept, and one that has caused much discussion. Of course as this is a Far Cry game and therefore needs to appeal to the masses, they have tried to tap into the underbelly of darkness by using a rocket launcher (basically, there are very strong themes, but they are executed with little to no subtlety). On the plus side, I get to murder lot's of brainwashed, religious idiots - so every cloud eh?
  11. I haven't read the reviews but I'm willing to guess the main bugbear would be a lack of innovation and not enough new elements to separate it from 3 4 and Primal. Which is probably fair enough tbh. Like I said, if you liked previous versions you will enjoy this one. Just don't expect it to break massively away from the formula. As it's a formula that I love anyway, I'm not complaining.
  12. If I could give one tip from the off, it's to get a 'companion' who specialises in long range combat as early as possible, and if they have a medic perk then all the better. They are great fun in general play but especially useful when you're taking over the bases. Just picked up my first 'Specialist' companion last night (you get these by doing specific missions). She has her own helicopter which is bonus, and she also has a habit of saying things like 'Well, slap my tits!'
  13. I'm about 8 hours in now and it's been great so far. If you like the series you will love it.
  14. Bought it in Saturday. Not all shops hang on until 'official' street date
  15. If you're a fan of the series then from what I've seen so far you won't be disappointed.
  16. Really really enjoying this. It's got that 'must do that' compulsion that 3,4 and Primal had but with even more polish. Very impressed so far.
  17. Local indie game shop. It's very good so far. It does what all Far Cry games do but there's definitely a little more polish in there. The gunplay is very satisfying and having 'followers' with differing traits is a nice touch.
  18. Just been to pick this up, and as a huge fan of the series I'll be looking forward to putting a few hours into it over the weekend. All the bits and bobs I've seen online have looked great and I'm hoping for the most polished Far Cry experience to date. Anyone else getting it?
  19. Not even those tiresome video memes can spoil it (well maybe just a bit).
  20. Can't bloody wait to start this tomorrow.
  21. He's absolutely terrific in that movie. It (definitely) won't be for everyone but I thought it was great.
