Made this point a few times.
As much as a disaster of a manager McLeish is, I think he's always come across as a decent bloke who genuinely couldn't believe his luck when he landed our gig.
I thought both series were great but the premise and psychological aspects of series 2 intrigued me more and so I was slightly more invested in the story.
Both were really well written and acted though, particularly Pullman whose character work I really enjoyed.
Did a photo shoot with Hick around 20 years ago for a brochure I was designing at the time (might have been for Worcester CC?) I remember him being a very friendly chap. Alas as I'm not much of a cricket fan it was 'just another day at the office'.
