  1. I can't get my head around anyone winning 4 million (or more) and wanting to carry on working. It's complete anathema to me. There is soooo much of the world to see and so many experiences to be had that that sort of money would allow. Going back to your job just seems mental. Each to their own I guess.
  2. This is a very interesting (true life) story, and for me is the best thing Van Sant has put his name to since Milk. Featuring another cracking performance from Phoenix and great supporting roles for Rooney Mara and Jonah Hill (showing his versatility again). It’s on Amazon Prime if anyone fancies a watch.
  3. I think we'll win by at least two clear goals.
  4. Watched that earlier today myself. Absolutely loved it! They nailed the dark humour perfectly and it was very well shot and acted.
  5. One of the worst films of the decade for me
  6. (Excellent) Actor Michael J Pollard
  7. The details of my life are quite inconsequential... Very well, where do I begin? My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a fifteen year old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. My childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When I was insolent I was placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds- pretty standard really. At the age of twelve I received my first scribe. At the age of fourteen a Zoroastrian named Vilma ritualistically shaved my testicles. There really is nothing like a shorn scrotum... it's breathtaking, I highly suggest you try it.
  8. Yeah they scratch that goth-rock 80's itch but add a nice contemporary polish. Their last album is bloody great too.
  9. It was the Vince Clark remix (the one with the video from the Hacienda) that got me into the Mondays all those years ago. I remember buying Bummed and having a 'WTF?' moment when I heard the original So yeah, there's definitely a place for the right sort of remix.
  10. Was just going to post the same thing. Never used Streetlink so cant offer any advice, but that's a very good thing you've done.
  11. Amazing album. One of my favourite covers too (wish I'd designed it).
  12. I was quite pleased with myself after watching that at the cinema. When Ed Harris turns up and... I enjoyed it, although I can definitely see why some didn't.
  13. I didn't rate the first series too much but I was told to stick with it and I'm glad I did. Season 3 and 4 in particular were brilliant and its worth watching for Robin Lord Taylor alone.
