You've sent me down a 'Spectrum and C64 Isometric games' rabbit hole now
Some truly innovative titles around that era - Knightlore / Fairlight / Knightshade / Alien 8 / Quazatron to name a few.
To create games with such depth of gameplay and story, using the technology available at the time was mind blowing.
Matt Berry - The Blue Elephant
A change of direction from the introspective Folk stylings of his last album (the superb Phantom Birds) - This is more psychedelic, acid-tinged 60's pop and as usual for MB, it's bloody great!
SFA are a band that I keep meaning to give a proper whirl and never get around to it. I always quite like what I hear too.
Right, I'll stick some on tomorrows playlist.
I'm on my second play through now - absolutely superb game.
My only issue with the whole thing is...
Apart from that, it's a game I may try and Platinum even if I stagger my playthroughs.
I had Ghosts n Goblins on my C64 and that would definitely have been before 1988 (85 or 86 at a guess).
Regardless of that, it was an absolute bastard to play and still remains one of the toughest games I've ever completed.
This is pretty bloody good so far.
It's also the only other ps5 title apart from Demon's Souls that I've thought 'yeah, that's a next gen game.'
It looks absolutely **** stunning.
