I've seen Gojira a couple of times and they are always good value. One of the gigs they played was a double headliner in Brum with Ghost which cost me the measly sum of £5! I bet there's a few newer fans who would have like to have been at that one

Jesu - Terminus

Watched this last night and thought it was very good indeed. Set in Thatcher era Britain at the height of the 'Video Nasty' controversy - Niamh Algar (Calm with Horses, The Virtues) plays a film censor, who has been mentally damaged by an incident in her past. The direction reminded me of Ben Wheatley, and has a very ominous, stripped back tone. Algar is great as usual, and really nails her role. Recommended

I've only seen Yiyi and that was good. I might have to add a few of his others to my list.

I usually agree with you Pete, but that's wrong on so many levels DM have consistently written way more good songs, have produced some truly brilliant albums and are much, much bigger than Tears for Fears will ever be.

Saw the new Ben Wheatley movie In the Earth last night. I'm a big fan of Wheatley but this one didn't quite land with me. It has some great performances (Reece Sheersmith and Hayley Squires are particularly good) - and the atmosphere created is suitably suspenseful, the cinematography works well (harking back to Kill List in many shots) and the first act is quite strong. Then, around the 2/3 mark, it just sort of falls apart and loses it's drive and identity. The narrative gets sillier and thus loses it's momentum, and the interesting early ambiguity becomes tedious and leads up to a 'is that it?' finale. It's a shame really, I think there's a good movie in there somewhere.

Really enjoyed this last night. Absolutely bonkers but wonderfully entertaining. Starring a couple of horror icons in Larry Fessenden and Barbara Crampton (who still looks bloody lovely for 62!) both of whom look like they're having a great time in their roles.
