Watkin's disallowed goal against West Ham came from such a cross.

A cross I feel like we used to do more of last season. That and the worm burners from Targett overlapping Grealish.

Very doubtful I'd say. Not involved at all last night so can't see him starting this one. It's got the feeling of Jack's mysterious, never ending injury about it. I'd be shocked to see Barkley here.

Hamstrings can be like that, especially once the weather gets cold. One day it feels great then the next morning it will be tight. Once you do a grade 1 tear avg recovery is a month so Ross is still on track.

  3. Anyone have a place to look up crosses per game and compare seasons.  I just have this feeling that last season our main form of attacking was sending in dangerous crosses from the flanks, mainly from the FBs over lapping. Now that Grealish has upped his goal threat I feel we are taking far more shots but of a lower quality.

When teams put 6 or 7 players in the box to defend we seem fine with taking shots around the 18. If we are going to raise our attacking threat we will need to generate more chances like the first Arsenal goal.

What's this glaring error you called him out for?

When he got caught in 2 minds at the edge of Burnley's box in the 1st half. Burnley nicked it away and started a break. Nothing of note came of it.

I wish people would stop going on about all the shots we had. It's a results business is it not. We was the same against Brighton, same with West ham, that's 9 points we could have won, that's progress. Playing a game with 27 shots on target means nothing it's still a loss/draw!!!

9 point more would have us tied for top of the league table. Got to set our expectations properly.

We are a team that will generate a ton of chances but will struggle at times to put them away. Couple that with a solid but unspectacular defense and you call that progress compared to the previous 8 years.

  6. Free kick was that close.  Had great run after great run. Needed more patience in front of goal. He was desperate for one of those strikes to go in.

Gotta trust your teammates El Ghazi. In the end he played well and hopefully he can build on that performance.

That chance in the first half was the touch and shot of a player from a slower league.

Exact same thought. Gotta get that half step quicker, especially against a defensive team like Burnley.

AEG created his chances, Watkins created Jack shit.

It's a team game. Maybe AEG should have passed a couple of those chances off after he realized he didn't have his shooting boots on.

    It's just criticism.

I feel he is making way too many errors on a consistent basis.

If you don't agree that's fine. No reason to make such a big deal out of it. Just one man's opinion.

A better team like Wolves?  Oh wait we kept a clean sheet there as well. Remind me who leads the Prem in clean sheets again?

You can't have it both ways. Our defense can't be one of the best in the Prem and leader of that backline also be poor every night.

It's a discussion forum. If you are wrong and feel the need to repeat yourself weekly then people are going to call you out. That's how this whole internet thing works.

It's just that he makes big errors every game. Errors the centre back next to him doesn't seem to make

How is it a BIG error if it doesn't even result in a chance for Burnley. Also, his errors generally don't come from defending but from trying to generate attacking moves.  Something I'm pretty sure Dean has instructed him to do.

You want to see an actual defensive error then check out ManU and the goal they just conceded versus Sheffield United.

Genuine question. Have you ever played football in your life? Even a kick around in the park?

You don't get it attackers can cock up 30+ chances in front of goal but if a defender makes one single mistake then he's the rubbish one.

  12. I will never understand people who have an agenda against players on the teams they support. If you want to incessantly hate on a player their are 475 other footballers in the Prem you can hate on and that's before you even start considering the other european leagues.

Just pick one of them and hate away til you're blue in the face.

How do you know it's a blessing in disguise?

Wolves is the only game we can draw from so far. And we created next to nothing all game. Traore didn't do anything other than a flash of brilliance which only resulted in a corner.

That's his point. Traore needs time on the pitch if he is to get better. Trez's injury gives him a couple games to do that. If it doesn't work out then Trez will slide back into his starting spot no harm done.

After a couple of tricky moments on the ball he seemed to go back to just playing it long up field like after lockdown.  I do feel a bit safer when he does that though I think Dean wants us to build from the back and trusts the back 5 to be good on the ball.  Good to see him sticking up for Anwar too.

Obviously Dean doesn't want the mistakes but he accepts they are part of trying to build from the back. During the post lockdown period the primary instructions was to just get rid and defensively it worked but our attacking output suffered greatly.

We have one of the best attacks in the division and that starts with our ability to initiate attacks from our back line.  Sometimes they don't come off but in the end I think the risk is worth it.

I do agree with Mings here but he is beginning to come across as a highly self-righteous person on and off the pitch. It goes without saying that the abuse of El Ghazi - as with any of our players really - was terrible.

Fully behind him for supporting BLM, but decided to go to a protest and actively encourage others to do so in the middle of a pandemic. Not sure about that mate. His on-field behaviour is also very self-important. Like he really needs to take those extra touches and make that Hollywood pass because he is Tyrone Mings, England International. Maguire does the same actually. Please pass the ball to any of your team mates who are better than you on the ball, thanks.

If you don't like the guy, just say that.  Making ridiculous claims like "defenders who take extra touches have a self-righteous, look at me attitude" is really, really silly.

  16. Leader of a backline that has allowed the 4th fewest goals in the league. Every defender has a mistake in them. That's why you defend as a team. Are we expecting him to be faultless?

10 games into his second season as a Prem CB. We get rid now and his new team will be laughing the same we were at Bournemouth.

Wasnt today his first start in the League?

His second. He went out injured early versus southampton.

As for his play today. He looks like a guy learning to synch with his teammates. He already looks quicker and fitter compared to his earlier appearances. I'll keep the faith.
