Looking forward to seeing him speak and hearing what he has to say. Hopefully bring the buzz back to Villa Park again, cannot wait for the turnaround now! Exciting times ahead again I think, delighted to have Lambert on board.
Wouldn't mind Rafa to be fair, think Martinez is holding out as he'd prefer the plop job, not even convinced we've contacted Wigan as stated as DW would be screaming from the roof tops! Really have no clue the avenues we're going down at the minute as they're keeping their cards very close to their chest.
I imagine RL was anticipating the meeting with OGS to be a lot more low profile than it was, and is sounding out a few of the options and interviewing them. Intrigued to see who the other 2 candidates are, hopefully of a similar calibre and excitement level.
I'm willing to give the guy a chance, seems as though he has bright ideas and has the potential to be brilliant. He likes to get his teams playing football rather than anti-football which is great, hopefully can ring a few Scandinavian gems along with him too. Hopefully this can be done and dusted soon so he has a full pre-season to reshape the squad and get them playing his way.
How many of Chelsea's current stars did Ranieri sign back in the early Abramavich days? I'm just thinking that he started that dynasty and wondering how many of those team of today were formed by him, just shows his ability to build a team that lasts. The more I think about Ranieri the more I think he'd be a good appointment, and his win percentages are impressive.
Sounds like its hotting up with Randy jetting in with a target in his sights! Sounds as though there was actual preparation this time round rather than the scatter gun approach! Interesting to see Mysteryman and Father Abraham go toe-to-toe, my money would be on Mysteryman this time round. A move which would excite fans sounds interesting, I'm intrigued to watch the appointment process this time round.
I wouldn't mind Lambert at all, a young ambitious manager with a point to prove that he can cut it at this level with higher expectations than at Norwich. Failing that, Martinez would be a good choice in the hope he's had a change of heart since last summer.
It would be suicide selling Bent IMO, if he decides he wants out you can't blame him, but if we have a choice in the matter he has to say, without Bent we're bereft of any idea on how to score. With a change in management the base of a very strong side is there and needs to be built around Bent and Ireland.
Wasn't N'Zogbia captain of Wigan for a while this season? Could be an option for next season if he performs for us this season, stick with Petrov for now and Dunne as vice-captain IMO.
I would certainly take him on a free, think if we're interested we'd have a great chance as he has a lot of connections at the club, Given, Beye and Nzogbia from Newcastle and Dunne and Ireland from City, could be in pole position to get him if Eck wants him.
Come on Charlie sign on the dotted line! Get the number 10 shirt on your back and work your magic. If you'd told me this time last year we'd have Bent and N'Zogbia playing for us I wouldn't have believed you. Great business by the Villa! Might have to get home and away shirts as I'm torn between getting N'Zogbia or Bent on the back! Looking forward to these 2 linking up, think they'll work well! UTV!
Bollocks from Kendrick IMO, why would Eck travel separately if it wasn't to do with N'Zogbia, who hasn't flown with Wigan, way too much of a coincidence if you ask me!
Seems that this is imminent if he hasn't flown out with the rest of the squad, there's no other reason they wouldn't take their star player on a week long tour in Europe. Hopefully done over the weekend so he has plenty of preseason left to settle.
