  1. I was reading what the Derby fans thought of him and most seemed to think he led well while the club was going through a difficult time. However I saw some question his actual ability as a manager though and he definitely doesn't sound like much of a coach, apparently he leaves that to others mostly. He also won't have Liam Rosenior who was his right hand man there and did a lot of the coaching. He's now a manager in his own right and doing fairly well at Hull by all accounts.
  2. Apparently he impressed on trial at Burnley and was promised a contract before they changed their mind.
  3. Decent signing. Having watched them they seem to rely a lot on wing play so it's a bit more quality there.
  4. Scouse ex-player gets a job in Brum just because of his name
  5. Think Rodri was just a suspension? Him stupidly getting sent off in a comfortable win and then missing the next 2 which they lost could be very significant.
  6. I see they've since posted this to try and cover all bases. Only taken them since Saturday.
  7. I liked the guy that was talking about the safe standing area at SHA. Apparently it's good if you want to stand. Not so much if you want to sit down.

  9. Rooney might turn out to be a good manager but there's not all that much proof of it so far. Averaging just over 1 point per game at both Derby and DC United isn't exactly setting the world alight IMO. It's certainly not worth gambling and replacing your manager that currently has you in the playoff places.
  10. I must be insane then don't get me wrong it was quite thin but they still had some decent enough championship players plus some highly rated youngsters.
  11. I get they were screwed once they had the points deduction but even the season before Rooney didn't seem to do that well to me. Also I thought their squad was decent enough both seasons. His DC United record is only just over 1 PPG too.
  12. Fair point. I kind of expect Man City and maybe Arsenal/Liverpool to break away at some point but hopefully we can keep pace for as long as possible.
  13. Unfortunately not. That season was the perfect storm where all of the 'big' teams were pretty rubbish. I think Spuds and Arsenal were the only teams that put up a bit of a challenge. The points tally Leicester got is the lowest anyone has won it with in the last 10 years too.
  14. There's that photo of Rooney's son wearing a villa shirt that people are posting on twitter
  15. I think Luton might have something to say about that
  16. Rodri is huge for them. Also lost Gundogan of course.
  17. Probably when McLeish, Pulis and Bruce were in the PL
  18. Arsenal really need to do more v City if they're serious about challenging.
