  1. I think he had actually really improved on his output under Smith. His 2 seasons back in the PL with us saw him get 14 goals and 18 assists in 62 matches. But Villa and Grealish were set up to get the best out of each other. He was the main man. At City he's a cog in a functional machine and there's no doubt it's completely stifled his natural game. He will retire a wealthy man with lots of trophies but so much wasted individual ability.
  2. Was on trial with SHA this summer so nice to see he found a proper club instead
  3. Does Lopetegui leaving 3 days before the start of the season count?
  4. Annoying that they've picked up just before we play them, so won't be easy. No Kamara is a big miss for us. Does Tielemans come in and Douglas takes up a more defensive role or does McGinn shuffle across? Donk could come in I suppose but seems unlikely with little match sharpness.
  5. I think our GD is pretty good. It's 13 better than United's! 5 better than Spurs, 8 better than Brighton's. Granted Newcastle's is slightly better but that's skewed by their 8-0 at Sheff Utd.
  6. People were posting clips of some of the penalties he 'won' earlier in his career. Shame he wasn't as honest then.
  7. I agree we can still improve but as far I'm concerned the neutrals and the media don't matter. Let them wax lyrical about Tottenham and Brighton while we go under the radar.
  8. Garnacho's goal was very good but I couldn't help thinking a keeper with longer arms than Pickford might have reached it
  9. Yeah either draws or 2 teams doing particularly badly creating a gap to 6th (considering 5th should be a CL spot) Unfortunately I can see Newcastle doing pretty well over December but if that means they take points off Spurs and Utd along the way it wouldn't be the worst for us potentially.
  10. Some big fixtures over the next few weeks where we obviously play City, Arsenal and Utd. But elsewhere too. Spurs face: City, Newcastle and Brighton Man Utd: Newcastle, Liverpool, Chelsea, ourselves. Newcastle: Man Utd, Tottenham
  11. We are more than capable of getting something against them at VP. Hell I'm going to say we get 4 points.
  12. Need to make sure we get this won by 2 goals to guarantee we avoid that extra round.
  13. Went to the game yesterday. We weren't great but probably should have still gotten a draw if it wasn't for giving away the needless penalty. I thought we lacked creativity, which is worrying considering Dali is back and some of the attacking players we have. Daly apart from her goal hardly had a sniff.
  14. A RB would be nice but Kamara and Watkins cover is what concerns me most. Saying that I doubt we'll get all of those in January unless there are some Moreno style bargains to be found.
  15. Yep my outfield MotM, he bailed us out several times especially in the first half. There was one chance Spurs had on the counter where he suddenly made up 30 yards in no time to nip in and get the ball. Second half he really showed his quality on the ball too, there aren't many DMs that can dribble past people the way he does. Will be a big miss v Bournemouth but as people have said it's preferable to missing City or Arsenal.
  16. Huge win. Poor first half but a great second half. Credit to Unai for making the subs to change the game and to the players. Emi MotM with some crucial saves.
  17. At least he can't be associated with either of these performances
  18. Thank god there's no more internationals for several months now
  19. Because we don't score many from open play?
  20. There are a few but they're probably not up to standard. I have liked the look of Alfie Doughty for Luton for example though.
